Mushroom Nut Loaf Gluten Free

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by MassMaiden

I made a variation of this for Thanksgiving this past weekend. I used more mushrooms, used almonds and pecans instead for the nuts, subbed apple cider for the alcohol and used fresh herbs, instead. It was great! — Laurie150 Oct 12, 2009

Crispy Potato Wedges With Mustard

Excellent! I used baby red potatoes because that is all I had, and only used a dash of olive oil. — Laurie150 May 7, 2008

Green Tea Sorbet

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by Miraklegirl

I googled 'green tea sorbet' to find the ratio of tea to water to make this for a luncheon I was hosting (I used it as a pallette cleanser like the other poster). The only difference was that I used a scant 3/4 c. sugar, instead of the amount in... — Laurie150 May 4, 2008

Stir-Fried Pork Soup

Posted by Snicklefritzie

I made this tonight for my family. I didn't eat it (I've vegan) but they raved! The only changes I made: I marinated the pork (which was about 1lb.) in ginger, soy sauce, garlic and lemon grass. I added some diced onion to the soup, also,... — Laurie150 Apr 23, 2008

Pan-Fried Cumin-Chile Crusted Fish

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by ellie_

I made this tonight with tilapia and cornmeal instead of the flour. I didn't really measure the other things, but did equal amounts. I also added a dash of flax meal for some crunch. I know it wasn't the exact same, but I made it for my family and... — Laurie150 Feb 12, 2008

Baked Spring Rolls

Posted by Karen From Colorado

I don't know if I did this wrong, but I tried baking them and they were sticky and mushy... It didn't work at all! I am giving it 1 star for that reason, but maybe I'm just a dolt! — Laurie150 Feb 9, 2008

Gluten Free Melt-In-Your-Mouth Shortbread

Posted by Nana Lee

These are from the back of a cornstarch box and are called "Grandma's Cookies". They were my recipe pre-gluten free and now I use them, too. I use Earth Balance for butter and my own gluten-free mix for the rice flour. I cut them out, though, and... — Laurie150 Dec 12, 2007

Pork Tenderloin

I made this tonight, but with garlic powder instead of garlic, and didn't measure the spices - just mixed them all together. I did it exactly the same except I took off the foil and increase it to 375 for the last 12 minutes or so. I also made... — Laurie150 Nov 27, 2007

Mean Chef's Sauteed Mushrooms

Posted by ~Bekah~

Really delicious, except I saved some calories by reducing the olive oil to 1 tbsp, and used 2 tbsp. dairy-free margarine instead. I also had to use dried thyme (that's all I had and I really wanted to make them). I served it with tilapia, and... — Laurie150 Aug 20, 2007

Pulled Chicken Sandwiches (Crock Pot)

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by justcallmetoni

I made this tonight knowing I would be out of the house all day. I don't eat meat but my family does. The smell alone was amazing. Everyone raved about it. The only differences I made was no onion powder, Frank's instead of Tabasco, and Dijon... — Laurie150 Jul 30, 2007

Spelt Bread

(2 people found this helpful) Posted by Shannon 24

To the above chef. Spelt is safe for wheat allergies. It is not safe for gluten intolerance or celiac disease. This recipe is correctly written. My friend with a wheat allergy tried it, and loved it - I'll give 5 starts for her. — Laurie150 Feb 7, 2007
