Grilled Pork Loin With Bacon

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by Sharlene~W

Tasty. I made in the oven as well. The directions do not say too pre-cook or not the bacon. I didn't and it was a left a little too soft and fatty for my taste. — Lt. Amy Nov 4, 2009

Fig , Caramelized Onion and Blue Cheese Tart

Posted by Lambkyns

The flavors are good. I used gueyer instead of blue cheese and that worked well. The crust seemed a bit too soft. Next time I will cook it more than 7 minutes before putting the topping on. — Lt. Amy Nov 4, 2009

Homemade Pie Crust

Posted by Elizabeth Fullerton

Worked out perfect and flaky. I've made it with butter flavor Crisco once and with butter once. The Crisco version turned out much flakier. — Lt. Amy Nov 3, 2009

Country Chuck Roast with Onion Gravy

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by Mercy

This turned out good. I only had a 2lb roast, so I split the recipe in half and cooked it for about 2 hours at 300 (after the 15min on each side at high heat). — Lt. Amy Oct 24, 2009

Lemon Oatmeal Crumble Square

Posted by Darlene10

Very good and super easy. The lemon is very a very tangy/sour surprise. I can see using this same basic idea for making other squares as the ingredients are simple and the condensed milk holds the filling together and keeps it from being runny.... — Lt. Amy Oct 21, 2009

Pear Gorgonzola Tart

Posted by Pikake21

A big hit. We have a weekly pie night with friends. Usually I'm left with lots of leftovers. Not with this recipe. The cheese was a little hard to spread, I used my fingers to smush it into an even layer. For the pears, I bought three... — Lt. Amy Oct 17, 2009

Spicy Mexican Bean Burger

Posted by Shannon Payne

Wonderful and easy. I was trying to recreate one of my favorite restaurant dishes, a black bean pita burger, and this is just as good. I only used 1/3 cup of flour and 1/3 cup breadcrumbs, used red and yellow peppers instead of green, and... — Lt. Amy Oct 14, 2009

This was rich and tasty. I made without the nuts and served with a little vanilla ice cream. Best served warm. — Lt. Amy Oct 14, 2009

Sweet Potato Pie

Posted by ratherbeswimmin'

My first sweet potato pie (to taste and to eat). Tasted good and set up well. I'm wondering why people eat pumpkin pie at all, this was much better. — Lt. Amy Sep 30, 2009

Ratatouille (Crock Pot)

Posted by Bev

Tasty, easy and healthy. A wonderful recipe. I didn't have a crock pot so I cooked it on the stove on low heat for a couple hours and it still turned out great. We had it straight with bread the first night and then over noodles the second night. — Lt. Amy Sep 13, 2009

Finnish Blackberry Yoghurt Pie

Posted by Missy Wombat

Very light and a little tangy. I used 1/2 blackberries and 1/2 raspberries. I used regular full fat yogurt (didn't remove any liquid) and it set up great. — Lt. Amy Sep 13, 2009

Cold Peanut Soba Noodles

Posted by EdsGirlAngie

This was pretty good. 4oz of noodles isn't nearly enough for the amount of sauce it makes, I ended up making another 4oz for a total of 8oz. Also I thought it needed added salt and a little bit of lime to give it some sort of kick. Otherwise,... — Lt. Amy Sep 9, 2009

Chocolate Pecan Pie

Posted by Spyder-man

I had high hopes for this pie. I remember making a similar chocolate pecan pie in the past that I loved. This one, had bits with a plastic like texture in the center. I'm not sure what went wrong, but since the center bite is the first one you... — Lt. Amy Sep 8, 2009

Yummy Crunchy Caramel Apple Pie

Posted by Wendy W88

Wow, I loved it and so did the people I made it for. The pie was gone by the end of the night and I was asked to make it again a few days later. I used tart apples from our tree and a pre-made pie crust. I cooked it for 50 minutes and the... — Lt. Amy Aug 19, 2009

Asian Pork Tenderloin

Posted by ratherbeswimmin'

Very good. I made this for my boyfriend and although he is usually not an over eater, he ate nearly half the pork tenderloin as soon as it was ready. I cooked to a temp of around 150 degrees and it was cooked perfectly. Not overdone, but medium... — Lt. Amy Aug 14, 2009

The Best Brownies

Posted by Juenessa

My boyfriend asked for brownies that weren't "cakey" like the ones I usually make. These did fit that bill. They were pretty gooey. I like that they are made with cocoa powder rather than melted chocolate, much faster and less messy to make.... — Lt. Amy Jun 14, 2009

Grilled Blue Marlin over Spaghetti Squash

Posted by Chef Hawgwild

Good tangy flavor. We grilled ours for 4 minutes on each side for thick steaks, any longer the fish would have been way overdone. — Lt. Amy Jun 14, 2009
