Virginia State Peanut Soup

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by Traci & Jeff Poole1

When making the soup I used 2 cups of homemade stock rather that the water & instant chicken broth. A very mild soup we enjoyed this one time but doubtful I will make again. Made for My 3 Chefs. — Julie B's Hive Nov 15, 2009

Sweet and Savory Popcorn With Honey and Parmesan Cheese

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by Babzy

Looks innocent enough-till you hit the "more spicy than sweet" ones. I don't use the jarred parmesan cheese so I tossed the honey mixture with the popcorn then added the fresh finely grated cheese. Made for My 3 Chefs, fall edition. — Julie B's Hive Nov 11, 2009

Simple Corned Beef - Crock Pot

The catch phrase "fix it and forget it" describes the prep work very well. The meat was nice and tender and as suggested served with cabbage mashed potatoes. Thanks, Diana, this made a hearty meal. Made for the Aussie/NZ RS#34. — Julie B's Hive Nov 8, 2009

Lemon Chicken Soup With Orzo

Never met a soup I didn't like! I used regular orzo and an extra tablespoon of lemon juice. Delish! Very thick and filling, maybe use a tad less rice next time around. Made for My 3 Chefs. — Julie B's Hive Nov 6, 2009

Macaroni Tomato Soup

Very good! I used two cups of water in making the soup and still found it very thick. Hubby and I cleaned out the pot by ourselves, a definite two thumbs up. Made for the Aussie/NZ RS#34. — Julie B's Hive Nov 6, 2009

Yummy Popcorn

Posted by Chef SusanNicole

I sprinkled the soy sauce mixture on a bag of store-bought caramel corn. I thought the amount of salt was too much on top of the soy sauce so only used half as much. Sorry but this didn't do a thing for any member of my small family, no one... — Julie B's Hive Nov 5, 2009

Beef Tips and Gravy

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by Seasoned Cook

I'm not a big fan of tips but I went back for seconds on this one and that says a lot! Made a slight change in the gravy in that I used 2 T of cornstarch to 3 T of water for a thicker gravy. Sure to be repeated as the pot was bone dry when we... — Julie B's Hive Nov 4, 2009

Had no dried chives on hand on I used 1 fresh scallion finely minced and used the seasoned butter on a bag of microwave popcorn. Should I make 4 quarts I would definetely double the seasoning as this was a bit on the mild (but-oh-so-good) side.... — Julie B's Hive Nov 2, 2009
