Baked Bacon (Oven Fried Bacon)

Posted by Charlotte J

Baking bacon is the only way to go. I suggest lining the baking pan with parchment paper. That way you don't have to drain since the parchment absorbs a lot of the grease. Cooking time was spot on for me @ 375 since my oven runs about 25... — The Queen Bag Jul 10, 2009

Blackening Seasoning Mix

Posted by chia

I'm on a salt restricted diet, so can't use the prepared seasoning mixes. I did this one with 1/2 the salt for blackened chicken alfredo. Wonderful. Thanks — The Queen Bag Jun 30, 2009

My Favorite Corned Beef and Cabbage

Posted by Mary K. W.

I've been cooking bland boiled corned beef & cabbage all my life & liking it. Tonight I wanted to kick it up a notch and your recipe was incredible. DH was at the local VFW where they were serving the usual boiled fare for $8 a plate. When he... — The Queen Bag Mar 17, 2009

Balsamic Pot Roast (Crock Pot)

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by mikekey

This is a wonderful recipe! My little podunk town grocery doesn't carry aged balsamic vinegar, so I need to do it again with a quality aged balsamic. I feel the caramel flavor of the aged would take it from great to superb. For our personal... — The Queen Bag Oct 30, 2008

BBQ Cantonese Pork Tenderloin

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by Bergy

Didn't change a thing. Browned in saute pan, poured in marinade, covered & ccoked until just done. Moist & very flavorful. DH was in heaven with this. Thanks. — The Queen Bag Aug 9, 2008

Meatloaf Haters Meatloaf

(3 people found this helpful) Posted by Christineyy!

Geez, I wish I could say it was great, but even tho I was looking for a very basic loaf, this is not the one. Too salty, & kinda mushy. — The Queen Bag Jul 18, 2008

Salmon Wellington

Posted by Mr. Bill in TN

The wellington was delicious. I didn't have to make the filling because Schwans has already cooked & seasoned mushrooms & onions in a freezer bag that I always keep on hand. The sauce was a tad acidic for us, so will use less vinegar next time.... — The Queen Bag Jan 14, 2008

Jalisco Pork

Wow! Easy and yummy. I doubled the marinade, cut into bite size pieces before sauteeing & served wrapped in flour tortillas with 1/2 mozzarella & 1/2 monterey cheeses. It was your marinade that made the dish so special. — The Queen Bag Jan 11, 2008

Fabulous Pasta Salad

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by MizzNezz

I was hoping for a better result, but I think the deli meats as well as being too salty, were boring. I would try it again with home cooked ham and turkey. Your recipe was good, but the meats weren't to our taste. — The Queen Bag Jul 18, 2007

Crock Pot Chicken With Black Beans in Cream Sauce

Posted by Chef #358340

Absolutely delicious! I used chicken thighs because I prefer dark meat. Skinned them & once they were falling apart, I just used tongs to remove the bones. DH liked it over rice, I preferred chips. Thanks for this one! — The Queen Bag May 22, 2007

Grilled Tuna Steaks With Wasabi and Toasted Coconut

Posted by Chef Boy-R "Diabetic" Danny

Wow! This sauce is absolutely terrific. I didn't have tuna steaks, so I used mahi mahi. I was a little concerned that the sauce would be too strong for a mild fish, but not so. It would be good on chicken & pork as well. I did burn my first... — The Queen Bag May 22, 2007

Three Bean Turkey Burger Bake

Posted by princess buttercup

Fabuloso! Easy, fast & flavorful. Me & DH both loved it. One change. My mother used to slow cook bean dishes to carmelize the sugars, so I put in in a 300 oven covered, for 3 hours & it was still moist & beautifully carmelized. — The Queen Bag May 22, 2007

Pork Medallions With Olive and Caper Sauce

Posted by MarieAlice

Tasty but too salty for us. The olives and capers, though flavorful, add too much salt. In addition, 1 tbs of olive oil wasn't enough to fry all eight pieces. I wanted to like it better. Sorry I didn't. — The Queen Bag Mar 10, 2007

Easiest and Most Amazing Pumpkin Cobbler

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by Jamie Lynne

Delicious hot or cold. I was jonesin' for pumpkin once the weather turned cold & this was an ideal alternative to more labor intensive pumpkin pie. Next time, though I'll use less sugar. Sweets really don't do it for me. I just go for flavor &... — The Queen Bag Nov 4, 2006
