Great New England Clam Chowder

Posted by CarrolJ

I used fresh clams, which added a bit of grit to the soup. I opened them raw and the shells got a bit destroyed. I used heavy cream instead of the half-and-half. This came out very very good. Definitely making this again! — Para_chan Oct 21, 2009

Garlic Lime Chicken

Posted by Tebo

I doubled this to marinade a whole chicken, cut up. I baked the chicken in the oven and it was delicious! I used a tablespoon of regular mustard, as I didn't have dry, and about twice as much garlic. — Para_chan Aug 20, 2009

Grilled Shoulder Lamb Chops With Garlic-Rosemary Marinade

Posted by Velouria

I made a lot of minor changes-added another clove of garlic, minced the garlic, used 1T thyme and chilpote pepper instead. That beings said, this was delicious! My husband grilled the chops over mesquite coals. — Para_chan Apr 28, 2009

Halupki (stuffed cabbage rolls)

(2 people found this helpful) Posted by Leslie O

Tasted as good as my grandmothers! I used half pork and half beef, since I remember that's what she used. My only issue is that cooking the cabbage was a bit of a challenge-in my biggest pot, I couldn't cover it with water, so I end up rotating it... — Para_chan Oct 20, 2008

Dandelion Flower Cookies

Posted by Mrs.R

I haven't made this, but I'd like to say a word of caution: Make sure that the dandelions aren't from alongside a road, and that they don't have weed-killer or other chemicals sprayed on them. — Para_chan Apr 28, 2008

Chicken and Dumplings Like Cracker Barrel's

Posted by hcopeland

I used some thyme, salt, pepper and basil on the chicken while it was cooking as well as a few carrots. I also made balls out of the dumplings instead of the type that Cracker Barrel uses. Very very good! I'm most definatly making this again! — Para_chan Nov 4, 2007

Southwestern Chicken Foil Packets

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by Meghan

This is my new favorite food! I normally don't like spicy things, but this is delicious. I have a bad habit of not having defrosted chicken, so I make some rice to go with it. The beans and rice together have all the protein you need so you don't... — Para_chan Oct 22, 2007

Ohm Rice

Posted by PuglyDuckling

I was a unsure if I'd like this, since I'm a fairly picky eater. I made this for my husband and two friends, and everyone loved it! I made omelettes to go over it and I ate mine with ketchup. I'll be making this again soon! — Para_chan Jul 24, 2007

Soft Sugar Cookies

Posted by beccalynn

I changed the recipe through necessity-I ran out of flour and didn't have baking powder! lol I used about 3.75 cups of flour and baking soda instead of powder. I also made drop cookies instead of cut-outs. They came out like little cakes! Still... — Para_chan Jul 11, 2007

Creamy Rice With Peas and Mushrooms

Posted by Courtly

I changed some ingredients, namely, I omitted the mushrooms, lemon and the parm. cheese. I added cubed ham, as I made this for a main meal. It came out rather soupy-I may have used too much broth/water, since I added water to my 12 oz can of... — Para_chan Jun 30, 2007

The Best Easy Beef and Broccoli Stir-fry

Posted by Chris from Kansas

I had to omit the brown sugar and ginger. This was really good! It tasted like proper Chinese food, even though I didn't have a wok to cook it in. The leftovers lost some of the flavor however. Para_chan Jun 20, 2007
