The Best Chicken Tortilla Soup

Posted by Jill4man

This soup is GREAT! I didn't have any fresh tomatoes, so I subbed another 15 oz can of fire-roasted diced tomatoes and it worked just fine. I really dislike creamy tortilla soups, so this version is the one and only for me! — Fash Oct 31, 2008

Fantastic Double Chocolate-Pecan Biscotti

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by KITTENCAL

This is a GREAT recipe - I highly recommend it! Like lots of others, I have experimented with many biscotti recipes. Now I only make two types - this one and another recipe I have for perfect cranberry almond. The best thing about both of them is... — Fash Jan 21, 2008

Swedish Brownies

Posted by Stewie

This recipe is terrific - and using 1/2 C vanilla sugar and 1/2 C regular makes them extra special. I never seem to get 18-20 bars out of a single batch, though...when I make them, an 8x8 pan gets cut into 9 pieces and they're gone before I know it! — Fash Dec 3, 2007

Japanese Hambagu (Hamburg) Steak

(3 people found this helpful) Posted by Meghan

I've seen this recipe on other sites, but never tried it. I was looking to use up a pound of 96% lean ground beef tonight and I'm so glad I found this recipe here so I could rate it - it's really great! I followed it exactly, except I used minced... — Fash Aug 29, 2007

Grandma's Pumpkin Pie

Posted by Excessively Diverted

I didn't have any evaporated milk in the house, but I had pumpkin in the fridge I needed to use...I am so glad I found this recipe! I halved it for one pie and it turned out great! The only change I made was using 1 TB of pumpkin pie spice + 1... — Fash Jan 22, 2007

Grandma's Cheese Straws

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by Lusil

This is a great recipe. I've attempted cheese straws before and they just seem so greasy - this one has a good proportion of butter and cheese. I used extra sharp cheddar from a local dairy and added an additional scant 1/4 cup of flour (just... — Fash Dec 22, 2006

Soft Molasses Cookies

(4 people found this helpful) Posted by Shirl (J) 831

FANTASTIC! The only change I made was 1/4 C butter and 1/2 C shortening. The cookies looked perfect and tasted better - and they were so easy to make! It only took about 10 minutes to mix the dough. I am certain I will make these again. Thanks! — Fash Oct 31, 2006

Spicy Roasted Chickpeas

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by JanetC-KY

These were good! I'm sure I'll make them again and perhaps experiment with different spices, like curry. I do think 2TB of oil would have been enough for the amount of chickpeas I had, though. I kept leftovers in the refrigerator...the peas... — Fash Jul 31, 2006
