Beer Bread

Posted by Gerald Norman

Yummy! I love the crispy, buttery crust the best. We use the 1/4 cup melted butter instead of 1/2 cup. We've also tried it with Green Apple Flavored Smirnoff (the stuff you can find with the beer, not the vodka) with excellent results. — heavenslice Sep 17, 2009

Mouth-Watering Teriyaki Burgers

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by FitChef2B

I was told not to lose this recipe. I made the additions as directed but put them in 2 pounds of 80% lean ground beef (sale), froze them & then grilled them after thawing them in the microwave. Mmm, I still have a few in the freezer heavenslice Jul 29, 2009

Pork Lo Mein

Posted by Mainely Debbie

I attempted to make the whole recipe at once and my kitchen is just not big enough. I also wasn't sure how to reheat it after frozen, so we heated it up on the stovetop and ended up adding water, which may have reversed the drying out of the... — heavenslice Jul 29, 2009

Cream Cheese Mints

Posted by Jamie78

These are yummy. My friend said you don't have to dry them before freezing them, but I learned that if you freeze them right away instead of drying them, don't let them thaw much before setting them out or they will not hold their shape. — heavenslice Jul 29, 2009

Cheerios Jumbo Breakfast Cookies

Posted by hellokitty

We tried these and they were okay, nothing spectacular, though one of my sons did snitch quite a bit of the peanut butter mixture before everything else was in it. I put the leftovers in the freezer because he still says "cooookie?" so cute (yes,... — heavenslice Jul 29, 2009

Whole Chicken Crock Pot Recipe

Easy and good. We've had people picking the pieces off the carcass when we were done & we've been given free chickens so long as we do this recipe and give them some. — heavenslice Jul 29, 2009

Still haven't made it far enough in advance to freeze it, but have had excellent results overnight. Last time for company I made one as directed and substituted sausage but left out vegetables for the other, both disappeared. I've also... — heavenslice May 21, 2009

This is yummy, but we usually have to bake it longer than the recipe says and we use butter instead of margarine. — heavenslice Dec 6, 2008

Pretzel-Strawberry Squares

Posted by Chef 167408

The directions didn't say what to do with the 1 1/2 cups cold water, so I dissolved the gelatin in the hot water, then added the cold water and chilled the mixture until thickened, as I think part of this direction was lost and that's what I... — heavenslice Nov 21, 2008

Rice Cooker Fried Rice

(2 people found this helpful) Posted by Chef #345597

I loved how easy this was. Because of my rice cooker's design I had to cook the onion on the stove, and I substituted ham for the bacon, but this was still very easy to do. I scrambled a couple of eggs while the rice cooked and added them with the... — heavenslice Apr 4, 2008

My mother-in-law makes these, they are easy and tasty. We usually use low-sodium beef broth because this is not a low-sodium dish and a whole can of water instead of 1/2. — heavenslice Mar 17, 2008

Love these, the only thing I don't like is unwrapping all of the candies. I may ask the kids to unwrap the candies next time, but I want to make sure we have enough left for the cookies. We have successfully frozen them for a couple of weeks... — heavenslice Jul 10, 2007

Breakfast Burritos (Once a Month Cooking)

I first tasted these on a tortilla chip at the Clay County Fair when I was still in elementary school and we've eaten them ever since. We use more salsa, cook off the extra juice then add the cheese and put the lid on the pan until the cheese... — heavenslice Jul 10, 2007
