Glazed Cinnamon Rolls - Bread Machine

Posted by Zewbiedoo

This is really good. I changed the granulated sugar in the filling to brown sugar. I also put half a teaspoon of cinnamon in the dough. The brown sugar gives it a grittiness we like. We also put a little butter in the glaze. — Macklander Sep 21, 2007

Crock Pot Chicken and Bean Soup

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by *Parsley*

This was an excellent and healthy soup! One change I did make (to my second batch) was to add the chicken in the last 30 minutes of the cook time. Otherwise the chicken is much too stringy and tough. I also prefer more cumin, which gives it a... — Macklander Jun 2, 2006

Crock Pot Jambalaya

(3 people found this helpful) Posted by Lennie

Wow. This recipe is great! I did this with turkey smoked sausage, and made a double batch (which fits great in a 6 quart crockpot). The spices were perfect, although, as already noted, it is more soupy than stew like. Still, the taste of this... — Macklander Jan 10, 2006

Cincinnati Chili

Posted by Tonkcats

I'll agree with one other reviewer...this recipe calls for a bit too much cayenne because it's a little spicier than regular Cincinnati chili. However, the consistency is just right, and most of the flavor is there. Compares very nicely to Skyline. — Macklander Dec 20, 2005

Crock Pot Beef Vegetable Soup

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by MizzNezz

I made a triple batch of this, and now I've got plenty of the BEST soup I've ever tasted. For this interested, a triple batch is about 2 quarters too much for a six quarter crockpot. However, you could easily do a double batch in a six quart... — Macklander Dec 20, 2005

Homemade Tahini

(3 people found this helpful) Posted by Charmed

This is a great, no-nonsense tahini recipe. Tahini is one of those things you don't typically eat by itself. It has a very nutty, and somewhat bitter taste. Combined with other things, though, and it's wonderful. I made some hummus with this,... — Macklander Dec 20, 2005

Hummus

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by ~Rita~

This is a great recipe! THe consistency was more doughy than creamy, but I'll try adding a little more lemon juice/oil next time. The taste, though, was wonderful. — Macklander Dec 20, 2005

Chilly Day Chili

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by Deb's Recipes

This really is an excellent, simple chili. I used ground turkey instead of beef, and the flavor is wonderful. I would give this 4 1/2 stars, but it's just a wee bit sweet (definitely from the ketchup). I put some cumin in it, and a little more... — Macklander Dec 12, 2005

Hearty Crock Pot Chili

Posted by Ted Mizerek

I followed this recipe pretty closely, and it was superb. I added 2 tbsp chili powder and 1 tsp cumin. I'll add more cumin next time, but the chili powder was spot on. Also, the consistency of this is a little more like a stew than a chili.... — Macklander Dec 12, 2005
