Cinnamon Sugared Nuts

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by Barbarella Rachelle

I LOVE this recipe. Its so good that you can't stop eating. I used 2 lbs of nuts, with 1/2 cup butter, and 3 egg whites. This worked great for me. I also used 3/4 cup dark brown sugar and it was sweet enough. Big hit as gifts for the holidays! — Lil'PG Jan 1, 2009

Irish Soda Bread

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by Barb Gertz

This was my first attempt at making Irish Soda Bread. It came out wonderful! I did halve the recipe using 100% whole wheat pastry flour, raisins, and little less sugar. I was worried that the dough was too wet (sticky) but it was fine. I... — Lil'PG Mar 15, 2008

Roasted Red Lentil Soup

Posted by Sue L

Loved this soup. The only thing that I did not have was cumin but it came out great anyway. 2nd time, I added cooked ground chicken, and chicken broth. Since I had some spinach, I put some in the soup with some sprinkles of cheese, and that was... — Lil'PG Jan 26, 2008

Minado's Perfect Sushi Rice

Posted by BirdyBaker

Authentic great tasting sushi rice! I am Japanese and I am picky about my rice. Never thought about making sushi at home until recently, and I could not be more happy with how they came out. — Lil'PG Jan 26, 2008

Flourless Chocolate Cake

Posted by Michael Astill

Sensational! It was wonderful with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I used brown sugar (about 1/2 cup) and since my scale was not working the almond meal was estimated. As for my DBF, since he doesn't eat wheat, he was amazed. It tasted like cake!... — Lil'PG Jan 26, 2008

Absolutely the Best Gluten-Free Peanut Butter Cookies

Posted by BigFatMomma

Totally impressed!! I used crunchy peanut butter, and for margarine I used soy garden. I also used 3/4 cup brown sugar and no white sugar. It was sweet enough for me. The texture came out soft and chewy. Next time, I may bake it a bit longer... — Lil'PG Oct 21, 2007

Super Fudgy Triple Chocolate Espresso Brownies

Posted by Mirj

Loved the flavor of the coffee!! Not overwhelming, and compliments the chocolate very very well. It was moist and fudgy. I did not have unsweetened on hand so I used all semisweet and 1 cup of sugar instead of 1 1/4 cup. Next time I will try... — Lil'PG Jul 22, 2007

Ham and Cheese Scones

Loved it! Its been a long time since I made scones but this one was really good. I did not have buttermilk so I substituted with one part plain yogurt to two parts milk. I also used asiago cheese. I liked the little bit of heat. I froze mine... — Lil'PG May 15, 2007

Katharine Hepburn's Brownies

Posted by Lennie

Good brownie recipe!! Since I did use 72% chocolate, I lessened the sugar a little bit. It came out very moist and not too wet, but not cakey. I baked in 8 x 8 pan and checked the oven at 35 mins. I thought it already looked overbaked at that... — Lil'PG Mar 14, 2007

Marbled - Chocolate Banana Bread

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by Sharlene~W

Outstanding!! My attempt at banana bread with another recipe was somewhat dry, and this one came out super moist. I used plain yogurt, whole grain pastry flour, and bittersweet chocolate. Since I was running out of sugar, I was a little short... — Lil'PG Mar 10, 2007

Applesauce Cake

It definitely came out moist and rich! The flavors of the spices and molasses reminded me of a carrot cake. Next time, I may try cutting back on the sugar, just a little bit. — Lil'PG Mar 3, 2007

Braised Lamb Shanks With Rosemary

I agree, the recipe is easy and good!! My first attempt at lamb shanks, and the flavors were wonderful. I took the broth in a small pan after cooking, skimmed some fat off, reduced a bit and thickened with some corn starch. My dutch oven was... — Lil'PG Mar 3, 2007

Coconut Squares

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by RéeLani

I changed some things like using stone ground whole wheat flour (no sifting) instead of the regular all-purpose kind and adding 2 tsp of rum with the vanilla extract. I loved the texture, the crispy top where the coconut browned and chewy center.... — Lil'PG Jan 29, 2007

Chewy Apple-Oatmeal Bars

Posted by KITTENCAL

I loved the texture of it (oatmeal and coconut), and three apples are a must. I cut back on the sugar from 1 1/4 to 1 cup, but it was still a bit too sweet for me. Maybe my apples were too sweet (mixture of gala, golden delicious, and can't... — Lil'PG Oct 1, 2006

Chicken Thighs With Sweet Onion Balsamic Relish

Cocoa Brownies

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by CCLady

Very easy, and very good. I baked mine a bit longer close to 30 min since it was runny in the middle at 20 min. I was looking for a chocolate fix without any chocolate in the house. Very moist. I think it is more cake like, which I like better. — Lil'PG Jul 23, 2006
