Mushroom Pot Roast

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by Julesong

This was outstanding! Being a cheap Bohemian, I used canned mushrooms and it was great. Don't be afraid of the sherry, the booze cooks off altogether. — Mama Tiel Mar 16, 2007

Chocolate Cream Meringue Pie

(3 people found this helpful) Posted by Carole Reu

This was easy and excellent. The chocolate part is a dense, rich pudding, not fluffy. I used 1/2 tsp of white vinegar since I didn't have cream of tartar. — Mama Tiel Nov 22, 2006

Blueberry Buckle

Posted by spatchcock

This is the closest thing to Dunkin Donuts blueberry muffins that I've ever tasted! I used half cake flour and half regular white flour and it turned out fluffy and wonderful. (Make sure your cloves are finely ground, though.) — Mama Tiel Aug 7, 2006

Pound Cake

(10 people found this helpful) Posted by LAURIE

Excellent! Very silky and buttery. Using cake flour is a must. By the way, 1 pound of powdered sugar measures out to 3 3/4 cups. — Mama Tiel Apr 29, 2006

Walnut Baklava

Posted by Mimi Bobeck

This recipe started great but ended in disaster. The amount of syrup is FAR too much, and my baklava was floating. Also, the syrup needs to be cooked at least two or 3 minutes longer, as it was still watery, leaving the cooled pastry a soggy mess.... — Mama Tiel Dec 25, 2005

Easy Hot Wings

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by Karen From Colorado

Outstanding! So rich and tasty. I used Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce, along with a teaspoon of honey for added sweetness. As for being "smelly to make," I plugged in my Frydaddy outside and let 'er rip on the patio. No greasy smell in the house here! — Mama Tiel Dec 21, 2005

Pan-Fried Tofu with Spicy Peanut Sauce

Posted by WaterMelon

This was an excellent appetizer/side dish. Crispy and delicious! I personally don't like cornmeal, so I used mochiko (Japanese rice flour) to coat the tofu instead. I added a little ground coriander to the peanut sauce as well. Thanks for the recipe. — Mama Tiel Nov 21, 2005
