Baby Kay's Dirty Rice

Posted by James Craig

This was really good! I used 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper and a "sprinkling" of salt and pepper. It was very flavorful. Next time, I'll dice up the vegetables a bit smaller so it all blends together a bit better. Thanks for posting. — BeansnRice Jul 9, 2007

SLOPPY JOE UNDER A BUN - Quick & fabulous!

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by WJKing

My family really liked this dish. Definitely use AT LEAST 1 1/2 pounds of meat - otherwise you end up with too much topping (as in my case). It was still a very simple and tasty meal. Thanks for posting. — BeansnRice Jul 9, 2007

Chicken Alfredo in Slow Cooker

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by Sage

This recipe is a keeper although I think I'll tinker with it a bit. My family thought the basil was a little overpowering but it has a really good flavor overall. Plus it was simple to make. Thanks for posting. — BeansnRice Jul 9, 2007

Beef 'n' Green Bean Pie

Posted by Mariah

This is definitely a keeper! The whole family loved it and it was different from what we normally eat. I added a can of corn for color and a little more tomato sauce which made about 1/2 cup more filling than the pie could hold. No worries... — BeansnRice Jun 29, 2007

Busy Day Casserole

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by Meyer336

Although quick and edible, this dish was rather bland. Maybe mixing the cream of mushroom soup in with the beef would make the meat more flavorful; or adding a can of corn?? I made it as the recipe stated and it was definitely missing something. — BeansnRice May 29, 2007

Spicy Chicken Rice Soup

Posted by Bayhill

I used the chicken taco meat Crock Pot Chicken Taco Meat instead of the pre-packed stuff and it was fabulous! I shredded the chicken and let everything come to a boil and then simmered it for about 15-20 minutes. I made my own spanish rice separately and put... — BeansnRice May 2, 2007

Slow Cooker Chili

Outstanding! So easy and meaty. I used 1 onion and garlic salt instead of fresh garlic. It was still very flavorful - my whole family enjoyed it. — BeansnRice May 2, 2007

Easy Spanish Rice

Posted by josamky1063

I used 1 full tsp. of chili powder for more kick. It was tastey but next time (to suit my family's preferences) I'll use more tomato sauce and less water. Good recipe! — BeansnRice Dec 8, 2005

Shredded Beef or Pork Chimichangas

I made this with beef and the meat was very flavorful and easy to make. I'll be making this again but doubling it so there will be some left over to freeze. — BeansnRice Dec 8, 2005

Creamy Chicken Enchiladas

Posted by Petdrwife

YU-UM!! I substituted Montery Jack for the Mozzarella and corn tortillas for the flour. I also had to use cream of mushroom since I was out of cream of chicken. My entire family loved it - this recipe is definitely a keeper! — BeansnRice Dec 8, 2005

Awful Potatoes

Posted by carolle simmers

These potatoes were awfully yummy. I used 8 large potatoes which overpowered the cream cheese and sour cream taste. Next time I'll only use 6 medium-sized potatoes. — BeansnRice Nov 29, 2005

Holiday Fruit and tea punch

Posted by sml212

It tasted more like a fruity lemonade than a tea. My guests nearly finished it all. For my taste though, I would put another pint of tea in the mix. Still quite good. — BeansnRice Nov 29, 2005

Crock Pot Cherry Cobbler

Posted by bluemoon downunder

I used a slightly larger crockpot so I figure this is why I didn't have enough better to completely cover the cherries. I think the batter needed a little more liquid - it was kind of thick and hard to spread. The crust didn't turn out as... — BeansnRice Nov 14, 2005

Conchas (Mexican Sweet-Topped Buns)

(2 people found this helpful) Posted by Karen From Colorado

I didn't read the recipe all the way through and ended up mixing the cinnamon, vanilla and orange zest all together for one flavor of topping. Even with this goof - they still turned out great! — BeansnRice Nov 14, 2005

German Chocolate Cake Mix Cookies

Posted by Myrna 2

Easy recipe. I made my cookies a little larger and crunchier but they were still tasty. Next time I think I'll use less chocolate chips - a bit too sweet for my taste. — BeansnRice Nov 14, 2005
