Empanadas De Calabasa Sefardicas (Sephardic Pumpkin Turnovers)

The filling (with only 2 Tb sugar) was very good. Used another crust, 5", made almost 14. Served with chutneys (cilantro and nectarine) and aioli. Seems strange but it was all wonderful! Very seasonal. — VitaSource Nov 8, 2007

Ozarks Persimmon Pudding

What a treat! I looked hard for something good to do with my ripe persimmons...this was a good choice. Whole wheat pastry flour and xylitol for sugar, oil for shortening, baked in a 10" pie dish (no size mentioned) and it came out well. Thanks! — VitaSource Jan 20, 2007
