Edna's Apple Crumble (Aka. Apple Crisp)

Posted by 1Steve

Quite delicious! My daughter and I will probably eat the whole thing tonight. It did take quite a bit longer than 10 minutes to prepare it, though. I found it took quite some time to peel then slice the apples. Maybe I'm doing it the wrong... — Bunsby Oct 9, 2004

clarified butter or "ghee"

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by Bonnie bonbon

Thank you. I was searching for a ghee recipe which would explain it quite simply how to prepare it. I even went to the East Indian store to take a look at what the end result was supposed to look like so I wouldn't burn it or make it too dark.... — Bunsby Oct 9, 2004

Chewy Cocoa Brownies

(2 people found this helpful) Posted by Kelleigh

Yum! Yum! Yum! We thoroughly enjoyed this recipe. Just for health sake, I used applesauce instead of the butter. Turned out just as good. My daughter says thank you. — Bunsby Aug 22, 2004

Seasoned Potatoes

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by Wendy G

Easy recipe. I didn't make the dip; I don't like sour cream. The husband (very picky) even liked it. I added garlic and dill to the flour mixture. Even better the next day cut up and fried. — Bunsby May 17, 2004

Baked Potato Wedges

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by dj101

The flavour was nice and it was crispy. My only caveat was that there was too much oil. I think I might put it down to 1/4 cup of oil. Other than that, it sure was easy to do. — Bunsby Nov 29, 2003

French Bread Rolls to Die For

(3 people found this helpful) Posted by Marie

I decided to make this into a loaf of bread instead of the buns and it worked out well. Nice simplistic recipe. — Bunsby May 31, 2003

Basic Buttermilk Waffles

Posted by Boxerwing

Smells great. I did do a few changes, just for our family. I did one cup white and one cup whole wheat flours. Then, instead of using butter/margarine, I added applesauce. Also put a little vanilla and freshly ground nutmeg and wheat bran.... — Bunsby May 9, 2003

Blueberry Syrup

(2 people found this helpful) Posted by Aroostook

Talk about simplicity! I did it with frozen blueberries with no problem. Then, I decided to make it with fresh strawberries. The house smells great! Thank you for the simple recipe. — Bunsby May 9, 2003

Garlic Fried Rice

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by Bergy

While I didn't put in as much garlic as called for, we still enjoyed this fried rice immensely. I did add some parsley to the garlic while sauteeing but that is because I like parsley so much. Thanks. — Bunsby Dec 30, 2002

Marinated Tomatoes

(2 people found this helpful) Posted by MizzNezz

I appreciate the simplicity of this recipe, but I find it just wasn't quite to my taste. Thank you for the simple idea, though, as I hope to try and find a tomato marinade that I can make up on my own. — Bunsby Sep 4, 2002

Semolina Bread

Posted by Bunsby

I was asked what this bread is best served with. I have found that this bread makes excellent sandwiches of any kind. Everything from peanut butter to meat sandwiches. It is also great to use as a base for garlic toast for spaghtetti meals. — Bunsby Jun 24, 2002

Honey-Baked Chicken

(3 people found this helpful) Posted by Jenny M

I really enjoyed this recipe. As promised, it was quick and easy. Since my family doesn't like curry, I just substituted with garlic powder. I especially enjoyed the colour the sauce gave the chicken. — Bunsby Apr 13, 2002

Chocolate Chip Cookies

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by - Carla -

I like the flavour, but I found that 15 minutes in the oven was too long. The cookies came out too crispy. Shave off a few minutes and they are softer. Very delicious though. Thank you. — Bunsby Jan 27, 2002

The Muffins(carrot & apple)

(4 people found this helpful) Posted by Tami Barrett

I really enjoyed this recipe. I substituted walnuts for almonds and found it tasted great. The only problem I found was that the cooking time wasn't right (maybe I did something wrong). I found I had to cook them for almost 25 minutes before... — Bunsby Nov 23, 2001
