Jalapeno Jelly & Cream Cheese Spread

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by Pam-I-Am

love this stuff. usually use the pepper jelly from Harry and Davids. I do let the cream cheese soften and then mix it together. I get a lot of "ooh boy you made your puke dip again!" lol It's not that pretty but it does seem to disappear really... — LizzieP Nov 8, 2009

Beef Stew

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by GinnyP

slighly adjusted for our taste- i used golden mushroom instead of tomato soup, and my veggies were carrots, onion, potato, celery, and mushrooms. Used the broth instead of wine, but only because I didn't have any. Good and easy and I'll be making... — LizzieP Oct 18, 2009

Un Fried Brown Rice - Good for You

Posted by dukeswalker

this is just how i make mine. so tasty and easy. i also use rice that was cooked the day before. Most of the time I make mine with tofu, and cook the tofu first, then remove and cook exactly as directed. probably my favorite thing to make. — LizzieP Oct 4, 2009

Cube Steak and Gravy (Crock Pot)

Posted by southern chef in louisiana

was good. after reading all the suggestions i cooked mine for a shorter period of time and they were still pretty tough. the gravy is just the best thing ever though- and i will be using it again, just probably not with cube steak. — LizzieP Oct 3, 2009

Chicken Stock Using Carcass

Posted by Peter J

first attempt at stock, thought it went well. had to move from a pot on the stove over to a crock pot when i realized i wouldn't have enough time to simmer before bed. i was missing the bay leaf and ginger, was still really good. used half to make... — LizzieP Sep 23, 2009

Whiskey Marinade for Chicken, Pork or Steak

Posted by Alice Robertson Clark

I didn't love this- the whiskey flavor was too strong for our taste. However- it had perfect caramelization and the meat was tender and melted in out mouths. Perhaps I'll try again with less booze and marinade for a shorter period of time. — LizzieP Feb 25, 2009

Roasted Honey Dijon Potatoes

Posted by KITTENCAL

These were great. Wish there was a bit more flavor to it- we used stone ground mustard instead of Dijon. I will likely make this again, maybe adding a bit of heat to it or a splash of soy sauce or balsamic vinegar. Yum. — LizzieP Jun 16, 2008

Chunky Apple Muffins

I followed the recipe with the following adjustments: no raisins, and pecans instead of walnuts. Mine came out a bit dry - I feel like they came out overcooked. They taste great though- and the smell while they are cooking is delightfully... — LizzieP May 31, 2008

In my house this was called Backgammon Pie (i don't know why) and it is the dessert i always picked for my birthday. My favorite! Sometimes we'd do chocolate pudding sometimes we'd do pistachio - either way it's delish! — LizzieP May 28, 2008

Raspberry Pastry Roll-Ups

(2 people found this helpful) Posted by akgrown

These are quite easy to make, and pretty... I made raspberry ones and chocolate ones, but they just weren't very sweet. I think next time I'll have to pick milk chocolate instead of dark, or a sweeter jam. I'm thinking a mix of cinnamon, sugar... — LizzieP Dec 9, 2007
