Artichoke Bruschetta

Posted by An American in Spain

I made this without the mayo and with smoked mozzarella instead of parmesan - it was fabulous. The combination of artichoke + tomato is a real winner... although the same could probably be said for anything + artichoke morgangeline Jul 22, 2009

Crostini With Fava Beans and Ricotta Salata

Posted by susie cooks

So good! I used a little more ricotta than the recipe called for and a little less olive oil, but otherwise the same, and served this alongside some tomato-artichoke bruscetta. They went really well together. This recipe is definitely a win!! — morgangeline Jul 22, 2009

Szechuan Style Eggplant (Aubergine)

Posted by Sue L

I'm going to be making this a lot! It hits the spot when I'm tempted to order takeout instead, which is high praise! — morgangeline Nov 17, 2008

Fettuccine With Sage Butter, Bacon and Artichokes

Posted by yooper

Wow! This recipe is almost embarrassingly easy for how good it is- and I'm a vegetarian, so I didn't even use the bacon. This will be a great side for any of the vegetable dishes I make with my over-abundance of zucchini this summer! Thanks for... — morgangeline Aug 7, 2008

Mashed Red Potatoes With Garlic And Parmesan

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by MizzNezz

I just made this in a fit of post-wisdom-tooth-surgery desperation for something soft to eat, and it is delicious!! Easy for me to make even in my groggy state. Thanks MizzNezz! — morgangeline Apr 24, 2008

Roasted Garlic Paste

Posted by sugarpea

This is now my roasted garlic recipe of choice. Of all the ones I've tried, it minimizes the burnt taste while bringing out the garlic's flavor. Fantastic! — morgangeline Aug 20, 2007

Soft Snickerdoodle Cookies

(2 people found this helpful) Posted by Juju Bee

These were exactly what a snickerdoodle should be. I substituted 3 tsp baking powder for the cream of tartar and baking soda, and they still turned out beautifully - great texture. I'll probably add a bit of vanilla when I make them again. — morgangeline Feb 3, 2007

Pumpkin Cookies

Posted by southern chef in louisiana

These were just fantastic. The combination of pumpkin and butterscotch was very light and subtle - just sweet enough, and very tasty. The guests at my halloween party were very impressed by these unusual cookies. — morgangeline Nov 10, 2006

Daddy's Kettle Corn

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by Dawn

This turned out crispy and delicious on the first try. It's the only kettle corn recipe I've ever made that didn't result in yucky burned popcorn. I'll definitely make this again! — morgangeline Oct 4, 2006

Roasted Garlic

Posted by riffraff

I make this a lot. Haven't quite found the perfect balance between undercooked and a little too burnt, though. Regardless, it's a great thing to have sitting around in the fridge - I add it to practically everything. — morgangeline Nov 5, 2005

Cinnamon Quick Bread

(2 people found this helpful) Posted by Theresa P

Definitely worth remembering to buy buttermilk for! This was a great use of some premium cinnamon I just got from an actual spice store. I'll certainly make it again... often. — morgangeline Nov 5, 2005

Mean Chef's Bittersweet Molten Chocolate Cakes With Coffee Ice C

(3 people found this helpful) Posted by newspapergal

YUM!! I too moderately screwed these up, forgetting to add the flour and ending up with the tops a bit singed. They tasted fantastic, though. The cakes are very rich, and I'd add that I should have paid attention to the recipe's use of 3/4 c.... — morgangeline Nov 5, 2005

Hot Mulled Apple Cider

(3 people found this helpful) Posted by Tonkcats

This cider was a real crowd-pleaser at my Halloween party. I added a bit less sugar than the recipe called for, but it probably would have been fine regardless. Good amount of spices - interesting but not overwhelming. — morgangeline Nov 5, 2005

Fudgy Low-Fat Brownies

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by Derf

These are great! They're kind of light and gooey in a way that traditional brownies aren't - but they're very good in their own right. It would be a little too easy to eat an entire batch in one sitting (not that I'd know or anything). — morgangeline Feb 6, 2005

Best Ever (And Most Versatile) Muffins!

(2 people found this helpful) Posted by spatchcock

These were great- I made them with strawberries, peaches, and some vanilla. However, 25 min. in the oven made them a little too toasty. I'll definitely make these again, I think they'll be perfect once I get the timing right. — morgangeline Feb 6, 2005
