Absolute Best "Most Excellent" Soft Oatmeal Raisin

Posted by Kimberly Arp

Excellent! I used 1 stick butter, 3/4 cup virgin coconut oil instead of all the butter. They were still pretty rich. Next time I'll use a tablespoon less of the butter. VERY VERY GOOD! I made these extra large with my largest ice cream scoop and... — ceoofmyhome Jan 16, 2005

Wonderful and easy! Surprisingly easy and the best cornbread ever! I was going to put in corn, but forgot, so I did the exact recipe and it was delicious. This will be THE cornbread recipe for our family. — ceoofmyhome Jan 9, 2005

Deep Dark Chocolate Cake

(2 people found this helpful) Posted by Lennie

This was a wonderful chocolate cake. I did it in the bundt pan and drizzled a bit of vanilla butter icing around the top. It is dense-I think it's just a nice chocolate cake-it was VERY VERY easy as well. But it turned out beautiful for the party. — ceoofmyhome Jan 6, 2005

I loved this. My husband just did not like the spice. Those who liked it, thought it was wonderfully addictive...and it made PLENTY for the party. — ceoofmyhome Jan 6, 2005

Mary's Zucchini Bread

(3 people found this helpful) Posted by Bev

Excellent! I did 3/4 cup virgin coconut oil instead on the oil (I use it for all my baking). And I LOVED putting the wet ingredients in the blender first...it makes this recipe quite easy. My guests were "overcome" with how good it was. — ceoofmyhome Jan 6, 2005

FABULOSO!!!!!!!!!! What a great treat this was! People drank and drank. I used ginger ale instead of 7up and froze a white grape juice "mold" in my bundt pan. People just loved the punch and the extra on hand will be used for new year's. — ceoofmyhome Dec 29, 2004

Twice Baked Potato Casserole

(2 people found this helpful) Posted by MizzNezz

I was going to give 4 stars because it wasn't easy. You have to bake the potatoes and make the bacon. This takes a little bit. But it was such a BIG HIT, that I smacked it on up to 5 stars. — ceoofmyhome Dec 20, 2004

Amazing! I made a dark chocolate ganache to go with, but really, this cake is so good on its' own, just sprinkle some powdered sugar on top and you have a delicious treat! WONDERFUL! — ceoofmyhome Dec 1, 2004

Edna's Apple Crumble (Aka. Apple Crisp)

(31 people found this helpful) Posted by 1Steve

FABULOUS! If you are an apple dessert person...this is one of the best I've had. What a GREAT dessert for company with a scoop of Ben and Jerry's vanilla. I doubled the amount of "crumble" on the top as the original recipe seemed skimpy (or my... — ceoofmyhome Sep 14, 2004

I would have given this recipe four stars for no onions, but my family loves it so much and has eaten the first jar so quickly, how could I? It's fabulous...a little sweet with a lot of spice. I now know to double the recipe next time...thanks... — ceoofmyhome Jul 10, 2004

Banana Banana Bread

Posted by Shelley Albeluhn

Great bread! I put the dough in muffin tins/foils and cooked for 25 minutes and they turned out perfectly. I also substituted 1 cup spelt flour and 1 cup kamut for the 2 cups flour, added 1/2 tsp. cinnamon, and 1/2 cup walnuts. Yum Yum! — ceoofmyhome Mar 22, 2004

EASY Beef Casserole

Posted by ~*Miss Diggy*~

Wonderful! It was so simple I was extremely nervous about it, but my husband's only complaint was there was not enough of it! I did not include water chestnuts (which made me even MORE nervous), but it was FABULOUS — ceoofmyhome Feb 27, 2004

Chocolate chip cookies

Posted by Aimee34

Fabulous! I wasn't really looking for lo-fat, but the ratings on these led me to make them. I probably added a little extra butter (did not measure), and threw in some walnuts, and I made them with Spelt flour instead of wheat. SO SO good! A... — ceoofmyhome Feb 9, 2004
