Joy of Cooking's Oatmeal Cookies

I love this recipe. I like to add craisins and chopped nuts / or butterscotch chips. I just recently cut the butter to 1 cube and added 1/4 C. applesauce instead to reduce the fat. They turned out good - not as rich, but much healthier. — Chef #1224235 Apr 2, 2009
