Deviled Eggs

Posted by KittyKitty

This is a basic recipe. I think it is a start to something that would taste great. Standing alone it is a little bland. Finely chopped onions would help — John Sauerbeck Jul 26, 2008

Olives and Tomato Salad

(3 people found this helpful) Posted by AuntWoofieWoof

I didn't care for this as a salad, however it makes a great bruschetta. I cut the olives with the egg slicer. If you are going to use that much tomato, it has to have sugar to cut down on the acid affect. — John Sauerbeck Jun 20, 2008

Broccoli and Bell Peppers

Posted by Bev

I'm going to have to say, this is the way I usually cook broccoli. I picked this recipe for something different. I always use butter, but lemon juice sounded different. The pepper gives it a nice color, but no change in taste. — John Sauerbeck Jun 20, 2008

Brandied Carrots

Posted by Carrie Ann

I had a recipe for brandied carrots and lost it when I moved. This was very close. To me, the over-powered the brandy flavor. Next time I will add 1/3 cup brandy instead of 1/4. — John Sauerbeck May 7, 2008

Kielbasa Skillet

Posted by Chef #653739

This is one of those recipes where not much work is involved. I cooked it as written and the flavors don't come together. It's missing something but I don't know what to do about it. — John Sauerbeck May 4, 2008

Apple Streusel Coffee Cake

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by Bev

I too added extra apple to the batter and an extra 1/2 tsp of baking powder. This came out just as it shows in the picture and tasted great. Perfect with the morning coffee. — John Sauerbeck Apr 26, 2008

Coleslaw

Posted by CunSwim

This just didn't work. The only way to salvage it was add Robusto Italian Dressing, so we could eat it without having to throw it out. — John Sauerbeck Apr 22, 2008

Stuffed Tomatoes

Posted by Sandy G.

For some reason this recipe has no flavor. I think if I would of used a blue cheese, it would of given it some character. I like the concept, but execution is lacking. — John Sauerbeck Apr 12, 2008

Southern Living Pinto Beans

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by Caroline Cooks

I was looking for something even a non-pinto bean person would eat. I still didn't find it , but this is the best recipe I have cooked. The only difference was I added water at the end and had to cook for about 20 minutes longer. I wanted the... — John Sauerbeck Apr 12, 2008

Tuna Noodle Casserole

Posted by Judith Fraser

This recipe was not what I expected. It is a good basic recipe. I need to figure out what I'm looking for and add it to it. — John Sauerbeck Apr 9, 2008

Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich (((Authentic)))

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by Alan Leonetti

This had a great flavor. It comes out a little on the dry side the next day as leftovers. If there's enough, I recommend an Au Jusce sauce. — John Sauerbeck Apr 1, 2008

Perfect Rump Roast

Posted by Gone Fishin'

This is one of th the few recipies that turned out just the way I pictured it should. It was made to make Philly Cheese Steak. It was perfect. I lost my stove yesterday so I had to do this in a toaster oven. There is nothing I can say to... — John Sauerbeck Mar 31, 2008

Chinese Chicken Wings

Posted by ciao

I marinated the wings for 2 1/2 days. My kitchen was torn apart. Great flavor, however the came out dry. Next time I'll cut the cooking time to 50 minutes and reduce the oven temperature to 325 — John Sauerbeck Mar 28, 2008

Corned Beef Dinner - Crock Pot

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by Derf

This came out good. I had a problem with the cabbage. It seems to take more than 1 hour to cook cabbage in a crock pot. — John Sauerbeck Mar 19, 2008

Banana Cream Pie (Max & Erma's Copycat)

Posted by Andi the grate

This is one of the few dessert recipes we actually ate. I make them all the time, but we don't eat a lot of sugar. It did make 2 pies and I could of made a 3'rd. The second one went to a neighbor, but no feedback. I will make this again, but I... — John Sauerbeck Mar 17, 2008

It's a Gouda! Hot Ham Sandwich

(2 people found this helpful) Posted by puppitypup

Congradulations. I tried to make this in time, but I couldn't find any raspberry preserves. Made it. My only problem was it was too sweet for our taste. Next time I'll leave out the honey in the mustard. — John Sauerbeck Mar 11, 2008

Party Pepperoncini

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by puppitypup

Theese were good. The pepperoncini overpowered the provolone cheese. Great concept, but next time I'm going to use a milder pepper. — John Sauerbeck Mar 11, 2008

Sweet Hawaiian Yeast Bread (bread Machine)

Posted by Chris from Kansas

I made this because I was bored. I just wanted to see what it taste like. All winter I have been searching for a daily type bread. I have found it. If I called it white bread, nobody would know it I used pineapple juice, but it definitely... — John Sauerbeck Feb 28, 2008

Cinnamon Raisin Bread for the Bread Machine

Posted by southern chef in louisiana

This recipe worked. I didn't. The flavor was balanced. My problem is I missed the beep for add ins and had to finish the loaf by hand and bake in the oven. Thank heavens it was warm enough that day to do it. — John Sauerbeck Feb 25, 2008

Baked Macaroni and Cheese

Posted by Mark H.

This recipe worked. It was creamy. Velveeta doesn't have enough flavo to carry this. It needs more cheese blended into the sauce — John Sauerbeck Feb 25, 2008
