The Realtor's Day After Thanksgiving Turkey Sandwich

Posted by Realtor by day, Chef by night

This sandwich is the whole reason for Thanksgiving, right!!?? We grew up looking forward to Turkey Day leftovers just to have this sandwich (but on regular ol' white bread). Very good with oyster dressing. Can't wait for November 27! — LaLa Lola Nov 4, 2009

Shrimp Casserole -- Southern Living

Posted by SarahBeth131

I have made this with pasta as well and it is delicious. I use Campbell's Cream of Shrimp Soup. (Perhaps it's just stocked regionally?) Your substitution sounds just as tasty! — LaLa Lola Sep 10, 2009

Spaghetti Carbonara

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by AmyZoe

This a great recipe; it tastes just like carbonara we ate in Rome! I followed the recipe exactly except that I used 8 oz of regular spaghetti because that's what I had in the pantry. DH and I really enjoyed it and will definitely make again! — LaLa Lola Sep 2, 2009

Oven Roasted Sweet Potatoes

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by Derf

Very good and a nice change from the usual sweet potatoes. I cut them in rounds and used just a sprinkling of thyme (personal preference--we find the flavor strong). Didn't have pecans on hand but it was delicious anyway. Will add them next time. — LaLa Lola Jul 28, 2009

Classic Baked Spaghetti

Posted by AngelaTN

Very tasty! Sort of a spaghetti lasagna. Instead of just oregano, I used Italian seasoning blend and I used shredded Italian cheese blend (5- or 6-cheese blend by Kraft). DH, DS, and I really enjoyed it (and DH is not a pasta lover!). Next... — LaLa Lola Jun 2, 2009

V8 Cajun Chicken Fettuccine

Posted by Chef mariajane

I made this using boneless chicken thighs. Delicious! I served it over fettuccini, but it would be just as good over rice. Family really enjoyed it. Thanks for an easy, tasty recipe. — LaLa Lola May 27, 2009

Company Pork Tenderloin

Very, very good! I followed the recipe as written using bottled La Choy sweet & sour sauce (Duck sauce is different than S&S. In reading the ingredients, duck sauce is apricot-based; S&S is pineapple. I'm sure using either one would be just as... — LaLa Lola Apr 20, 2009

Bon Temps Grillades

Yankee Chili

Posted by Richard-NYC

I accidentally bought tomato sauce and tomato paste flavored with oregano and basil (discovered after I added them). I'd seen oregano used in a few other recipes, but the basil worried me. Italian chili?? In any case, it was still very, very... — LaLa Lola Feb 2, 2009

Delicious! I halved the recipe and eyeballed the ingredients as I threw this together. Also, I tossed everything together. Reminded us a little of stuffed artichoke pasta. DH, who is not a pasta fan, loved it! — LaLa Lola Jan 30, 2009

Perfect! I used store-brand brown gravy, onion soup mix, and lite italian dressing, and it was still great! Cooked it in crockpot on low overnight. Family loved it served with mashed potatoes and green beans. A keeper! Thanks! — LaLa Lola Jan 26, 2009

Vermicelli Olive Pasta Salad

Posted by BethR

Just great! I served it to an appreciative crowd on Mother's Day. I made my own seasoned salt as I didn't have any premixed on hand. Also, I used angel hair pasta since that was in the pantry. The dressings are yummy on their own. Good salad... — LaLa Lola May 16, 2008
