Tender, moist, quick and so easy to make.My DH doesn`t like biscuits but these he did, having 3. I did use butter in place of the shortening. Made for ZWT5 in this A Grand French Feast.. Merci Beaucoup!

Delicious and these biscuits were also successful for me, as they rose and stayed flakey. As I have problems with biscuits fairly often these worked out well for me. I did cut down on the amount of herbs a bit and also used some oregano (instead of the parsley) - with delicious results. Thanks for sharing these keeper biscuits!

Excellent biscuits. Light and flakey with a nice flavor. I cut the recipe in half, making 12 biscuits and cut back on the herbs a little. Other than that make as directed. Thanks Susie

This is the first recipe I have ever made by Julia Child, and I too will use it often. I'd never made biscuits before, and it was really fun. I did find that you need a lot of flour on the cutting board for kneading and a lot of flour on your hands to keep the dough from sticking. These were tasty and easy and lots of fun to make...Thanks Susie!

I could not believe how moist these bicuits were. The outside got nice and tender-crisp while the inside was soft and moist. We loved them! I used chives and parsley from my garden and even added a dash of garlic powder to half the batch. So often I am at a loss as what to do with leftover buttermilk, now I can whip up a batch of these delicious biscuits for dinner! Thanks for sharing Susie. Made for ZWT5. Bren

Wonderful biscuits! I am not always a great dough kneader but these were perfect. Served the biscuits with Chef twissis Mustard-Baked Pork Chops W/Brie Mustard-Baked Pork Chops W/Brie and buttered noodles. Also enjoyed these biscuits the next day with a little vege cream cheese! Thank you Susie!!

These were good, I liked the fresh herbs in them, but I didn't like the texture as much as my normal baking powder biscuits. The only difference would be the egg and for me it took away from the flakiness also I thought they needed more salt, as beyond the herbs they were a little bland. Thank you Susie for sharing your recipe - you've inspired me to add fresh herbs to my biscuits. Made for ZWT 3 by one of the Cooks With Dirty Faces.

I cut the recipe in half to make a dozen biscuits. I am not sure if I measured something wrong but I found the mix very liquidy and had to add more flour. So will not give a star rating since I might of messed up. The texture is quite different from our usual biscuits. With using fresh herbs I think next time I will add more. I brushed half with a melted garlic butter before baking. A nice basic recipe that has great potential for variety with using different herbs. Made just to say THANKS for being a great team mates during ZWT 5

mmm DH loves these, delicious! I used fresh parsley and chives from the garden. I think maybe my eggs were bigger than yours, I had to add more flour, the dough was quite sticky, but they turned out perfectly beautiful anyway!! Thanks for posting! oct 19/07 DH can't get enough of these biscuits, we had company for supper and he told my brother in law about them and they of course insisted i make them for supper and some for my brother in law to take home , so I have some in the freezer now for our next stew and a big hug from brother in law!! YUM!
