This cake was delicious! I took away one star because some of the directions were unclear. (Add to the remainder of the cake ingredients and mix well)...lemon curd was listed under "for the cake" so I added it to the mix...luckily the cake still came out fine, but a little clarification there would have been nice--to anyone reading this review "the lemon curd is for the filling, not the cake mix"...Luckily I made a whole batch of curd, so I had enough to fill also. Thanks for posting!

This was a great tasting cake! Unfortunately, it was pretty hot and humid when I made it, so it didn't turn out even half as pretty as Wildflour's picture, but it still tasted great. I should have taken a picture of the disaster that was my cake after the car ride to work (the strawberry jam and lemon curd filling was oozing out the sides, the frosting was practically dripping off the sides of the cake, and the poor thing cracked down the middle — eek!). I didn't make the dipped strawberries, but I had a container of white chocolate curls to use up, so I covered the cake with those to try and make the frosting more cohesive (which helped to make it look a little better, anyway). Oh well, that's what I get for trying to do a rush job on a layer cake in this weather (the mess was purely chef-based, not recipe-based) lol! On the up-side, I think I liked the cake part of it so much that I might use it all by itself for some sort of lemon trifle the next time I make it. Thanks for posting!

My daughter made this delicious cake for my granddaughter's birthday. Like Wildflour, she added 2 layers of strawberry preserves and dipped strawberries in white chocolate for decorating. I loved the flavour contrast of the lemon with the sweetness of the berries & the icing. Thanx Princess!

The cake turned out great (although it does taste like a box mix, I think). Make sure you follow the directions to sift the powdered sugar. I tried to skip that step, and the frosting did NOT turn out. Overall, it was a hit.

Great cake recipe! Made it and it turned out perfect! I tried the jam filling version from Wildflour but it was very very sweet and rich! The icing makes up heaps! I had enough left over to do another cake top as well. I am going to make it with the lemon curd filling alone next time to try that. Thanks for the recipe! Will be in my favourites!
