I saw the review for this on the Aussie/New Zealand community page, Swap #3 and had to try it. OH MY GOSH! Was this ever good. I still can't figure out how this rice got the same texture and flavor as take away, but it does and this couldn't be any easier. I love fried rice and as far as I am concerned the "buck stops here". I don't think I will ever bother to look at another fried rice recipe again. It was that good. Thank you for sharing this one.

I just had this for lunch today and I made it for lunch yesterday. It was amazing. I halved the recipe and it could be a very large meal for one or a side dish with leftovers. I must say I did muck around with it a bit but it turned out great. I used katsup instead of tomato sauce ,took out the bacon (I am a vegetarian), added 1/2 tablespoon extra soy sauce, I didn't have an onion so I left that out, added 1 1/2 teaspoons crushed red pepper for a little spice and added 1/2 cup extra veggies. I microwaved for about 7 minutes then gave it a stir because the rice was starting to burn on the edges, then I added the veggies added 1/4 of a cup of water and cooked for another 3 minutes. I used frozen peas, fresh broccoli, fresh carrots and bean sprouts (I added the bean sprouts at the end 'cause I like them cold for some reason) It was perfect, so easy and it tastes so great. I can't wait to make it again!

I have been making rice pilaff in the microwave for years; it was great to find another recipe for me to try. I added garlic and cooked chicken and made it a whole meal.Excellent! Thanks for sharing.

I can't believe how good this was!! I've never been able to get a 'fried rice' that I was satisfied with until now. This was SO darn easy to prepare and THE best tasting fried rice I've ever made. Thank you so much for sharing this one Mummamills!

When I first read the directions for this recipe I thought "You have got to be kidding....just throw it all in the microwave uncooked??" Guess what? It turned out perfectly, and we loved it! This will be on my regualar rotation now. A healthier version of "fried" rice! I used frozen corn and peas, and fresh carrot, also basmati rice as suggested. Thanks for a GREAT recipe Mummamills!!

I'm not a microwave expert (I only use it to re-heat leftovers) so this was a good easy recipe to make. Just put the ingredients in a microwave proof dish, put the lid on, cook for 20 minutes, allow it to sit for 5 mintes then heay presto you have fried rice. It was so delicious, Little Miss asked for it again tomorrow night. Thank you mummamills for sharing your secrets..

Good idea! I used Jasmine rice and subbed ketchup for the tomato sauce. I wasn't thrilled with the way the veggies cooked to death in the rice. I used a frozen oriental blend of veggies. What I did like was the texture of the rice. Next time I'll cook and mix the veggies in before serving at the table.

How easy is this? And very good. I used long grain rice. I used the ketcup and took your advice and added garlic (1/2 teaspoon) and ginger (1/8 teaspoon). 20 minutes was too long for me and I will shorten it next time and will also add more soy sauce or add sesame oil. The edges of the rice were hard. I didn't want to stir in between because I thought you were not suppose to interrupt rice while cooking. Will definitely try again. Very easy. Thank you much!

This is good for something fast for dinner but it wasn't what I really expected. It didn't really taste much like fried rice but it was good.

I wouldn't believe it unless I had made it. Next time I will up the soy by another tablespoon. Other than that in the last 4 minutes I added some chopped up prawn and beanshoots and stirred. I have a 900w oven and the 20 minutes was right for it.
