120 Reviews of Human Puppy Chow

From: KyanaBelle

On Nov 22, 2001

Made this Thanksgiving day. Kids and adults all loved it. Just a tip... if you are going to double it (like I did) make two different batches. Easier that way in the long run and fewer chex get crushed in the mixing.

We have been making this recipe for several years, everyone in our family loves it. This recipe was on the box (Rice Chex). It is also good made with mint chocolate chips.

I used Crispix Cereal the 17.9 oz box(they are like chex cereal) I measured the 9 cups out. Then looked at the left over cereal and said might as well. And with thatI added the rest of the cereal to the mixture. With the additional cereal it still came out fine. The six hungry teenage girls gobbled it down in no time.

I've made this for years - it happens to be a favorite of my son who is now attending Purdue University. I just made a huge batch and will be taking it this weekend for our tailgate party. By the way, I just use a 12 ounce box of Crispix, which is more than 9 cups, and find there is enough coating for all of it.

My 6 yo son took this when he was asked to "bring a snack to share". It was perfect - yummy and clever. We made it exactly as directed. Long ago I made this same recipe, but subsituted the powdered sugar with powdered milk. I did find this just a bit sweet, and might try it again with powdered milk next time.

Delicious! (and very easy!) This stuff is addicting. Just make sure the paper bag is air-tight or powdered sugar will rain down on your kitchen.

Kids loved them. Recipe name catchy! Used only 3 cups powdered sugar and found that was still too much - will try 2 cups next time.

This was amazing, my roomates and I loved it. After a few handfuls, it gets pretty sweet so I dumped a bag of trail mix in with the puppy chow. WOW. Anyone trying this recipe should set aside half and try it with the trail mix too. Or even just adding some pretzels or nuts. Yum, thanks!

This was soo... good. We couldn't stop eating it. I also made it using white chocolate and it was gone just as fast.
