smelles wonderful. tastes good! I gave this as Christmas gifts. I altered it a bit by using half white sugar and half brown and using some apple juice in place of half of the buttermilk.

We enjoyed this mildly flavored and lightly sweet bread. I substituted half of the white sugar for brown sugar and I used one cup of finely chopped granny smith apples. We warmed up buttered slices of the bread for breakfast. We especially liked the crumb topping.

One of our favorites that has been in my recipe collection for a long time. This recipe freezes well; I often double or triple the recipe so that I can freeze some and pull it out when needed. Thanks for posting! : )

My husband asked me to make an apple bread. When I found this recipe I knew it was a winner. It smelled the whole house of fresh baked apples and tasty just as good. Everyone loved it. I will definetly make this again. Thanks for sharing.
