I totally forgot to post this review! So sorry. This was really good. My dh is a CFS freak and he loved it! He ALWAYS orders CFS if it is anywhere on the menu! He said HE will make this again and again- took the leftovers for lunch the next day and he NEVER eats left overs! Thanks so much Jude for sharing this great recipe!

Loved the taste of these...especially with the gravy. My only problem was that I had a terrible time keeping the patties together as I moved them from the flour to egg to flour. It was highly frustrating...not sure what I was doing wrong. I will try again though

My mother used to make this same recipe for us when we were kids, except she didn't make the gravy, we dipped them in ketchup. We loved it and we requested it often. I had forgotten all about it until the other day and I had to call my mom to get the recipe because I was craving it. I made it last night for DH and he loved it too. I'm glad to see the recipe is posted for others to enjoy. It's ALWAYS tender and you can adjust the season salt to your personal taste.

I figured we would like this dish, as we all love chicken fried steak, but I was wrong...we LOVED it! It was a quick and easy weeknight dish that tasted great!! We will definitely be making this again! Thanks for posting such a economical, delicious alternative to "traditional" chicken fried steak!
