The steak, although grilled inside, developed a very pleasant "woody taste " similar to the oak flavor of the bourbon. The remaining marinade added to a simple roux from equal parts of butter and flour, made a very nice gravy.

I marinaded it overnight, increased the garlic to 3 cloves and cut the sugar to 1/2 tsp. Good hot skillet to brown it nicely and not over cook it MMMmmmm beautiful flavor Thanks Troy

OMG, Little One, you have a big winner with this steak recipe! Very easy to mix up the marinade, drop in the meat, and let it set and mind it's own business till time to cook. I did this under the broiler, and it came out great. We loved the flavor. We enjoyed every bite! Thanks for sharing. Laudee

Char, this marinade was absolutely wonderful! Just wish I could rate this much higher than 5 stars. I doubled the marinade ingredients, and used about 1 Tbsp minced garlic, and marinated my sirloin steaks overnight in the fridge. DH always keeps bourbon around, and I just love it for different recipes! These steaks were so full of flavor and tender, I will be using this marinade again. Thanks so much for posting Char, I recommend this highly....Kittencal

I was a little leary of this recipe because we are not crazy about the taste of bourbon, BUT I have to say that it was the best steak we have ever had! I increased the garlic to three or four cloves but I am sure it would have been great with the original amount. The steak came out as tender as butter. Excellent!!

Delicious, I loved the flavours that came through. I used fillets and they were so juicy and tender. My hubby and I MMmmmed our way through this meal. I did add extra garlic but apart from that made as is. Will definitely be making again, thanks for sharing.
