OH MY GOODNESS!!! I marinated mine in the beer all night with garlic lightly sprinkled on the fish, and put the fish directly in the frying pan with some butter. I melted butter in a dish with some garlic and garlic butter was created. I forgot to get the lemon, so I just dipped the cooked product in the garlic butter... this was incredible. My boyfriend is not a big fish fan, but he loved this, as I did too. Thanks sooo much! This dish is excellent! Now I know why it is called "Poor Man's Lobster". This was my first time trying Mahi Mahi and this recipe makes it tast so much like lobster.

This dish is simple and delicious. I actually have simplified it even more. I leave the fish in whole filets and boil the fish in the beer and lemon juice because I don't own a steamer. It still comes out delicious.

I wish I could rate this higher than a five! This was absolutely the best steamed fish I have ever ate. I also marinated mine in the beer with some kosher salt and dill weed for a hour. Then placed beer in bottom of pot and used my steaming pot and place fillets in and poured the lemon juice over fillets. Thank you for posting such a great fish recipe!
I made the garlic butter sauce but DH and I didn't need any cause the fish was fine the way it was with some Tarter sauce

This was so good and so easy! Cooked according to recipe, except I couldn't find mahi mahi - instead used tilapia, which worked out great!

Wow! I can't say the texture was like lobster, but I used a frozen fillet, quickly thawed. However, it was SOOOOO yummy! I'm trying to lose about ten pounds, and this is a perfect recipe for me. I substitued butter and salt for "I Can't Believe It's Not Butter" spray, and used a little garlic, and the dipping sauce was yummy and incredibly low-cal! I had a green salad on the side, and it made for a lovely supper (meanwhile my kids were gnoshing on fattening stuff...but I think they lost out, not me!)

I really loved this recipe and so did my hubby! It's really simple and you can't even taste any hint of the beer in the fish. It almost seems like a waste of a bottle of beer to make this, but it is worth it. The dipping sauce is tasty too! Can't wait to make it again!

I didn't use beer, but just boiled some water with lemon to steam my fish. The garlic butter was especially tasty with the fish. Thanks for sharing.

Simply outstanding! Even my daughter that does not care for fish really enjoyed this recipe.

I wasn't as impressed as everyone else with this recipe. We cook a lot of fish and I LOVE lobster so I thought this would be a perfect recipe. We cooked fish about 7 minutes. I thought it tasted like fish dipped in garlic butter. Texture was too different from lobster to mimic it. I would save my calories and fat grams for real lobster!

I made this recipe as directed. It was very easy to follow and produced a very tender and flavorful fish. I made the sauce with this recipe and also provided several other sauces with our fish to do a little taste testing. Butter and garlic never misses ; ) Thank you, Mercy!
