Just a comment - when making your own products with essential oils in them, you should put them into glass containers. You can use plastic, but when you use plastic, some of the essential oils gets absorbed into the plastic and the smell will not last as long as it would in a glass container. Glass containers do not absorb the oils, and you can wash it out easily. So, if you are using a plastic container make sure that you don't intend to use it for any other purpose (like food storage) because the oils get absorbed, and I dont think anyone would like lavender mixed with your leftovers! Thanks!

Awesome recipe! I just needed to treat my hands like a lady
, and this was just perfect with all the ingredients available at home, costing just few pennies, involving the least time possible and providing the finest result! I used the juice of 4 limes as a substitute instead of lemons. I made this in 2 batches: one with the lime juice and 1 without. Both are simply marvellous on my sensitive skin. This is a wonderful recipe. Note: You can also use table salt instead of sugar and make this. It gives good results and is something I have been doing for a very long time now
Thanks a bunch for the recipe!

Heavenly! Smells and feels wonderfull. I made it with 6 times the amount of sugar and didn`t need all the oil. About 4 cups was plenty. I used lavender oil. Thanks Blink!

I like this, it does leave your skin feeling soft, and feels exactly like the stuff I pay $20 for (you know where).
However, there is too much olive oil and the scent of the olive oil is too strong for this scrub. I will be making this again, because I just love the idea of the homemade scrub, but I will start with reducing the oil to 2/3 cup and replacing half the olive oil with grapeseed oil or maybe even safflower oil.
Still, I really love this idea! Thanks, you're saving me a small fortune!

Even better is to use coconut oil instead of olive. OMG it's wonderful. My skin is so soft right now.

I'm getting ready to make my third batch of this! I have a real tough time with dry skin and this has made a huge difference. It's not too abrasive so it doesn't irritate my skin. I made it both ways and suggest NOT using extra virgin olive oil - the smell of the oil is not as strong and it's less expensive.

I can't tell you how nice it is to know that I can make my own spa products at home without spending a huge amount on lower quality retail stuff. I'm lucky enough to have an organic store right down the road from me, so I made up my own batch of this with some grape seed, jojoba, sweet almond, and apricot kernel oils mixed in with the olive oil. I also tossed in a spoonful of cocoa butter that I had laying around (5 bucks for a HUGE bottle at wal mart) and scented it with a chopped up vanilla bean and some coffee grounds from the kitchen. It's a really nice treat to wake up to in the morning
thanks a million again!!!

This is defiantly my favorite sugar scrub! I add 1/4 extra sugar, the juice of a whole lemon and 1 tbs of pure lemon extract.

Wow I love this stuff...I haven't had any essential oils laying around so haven't made it using those..but I love it just fine just the same...the only problem it's a tough choice whether or not to use it as a face scrub or eat it as a dessert LOL
