Excellent! I lightly seared the meat, placed the meat in the crockpot and put everyting else in a bowl, mixed well, and poured the ingredients over the meat. I used my Onion Seasoning Mix Onion Seasoning Mix for the onion soup mix. Turned the crockpot on low and cooked 6 hours. The meat was tender and there was ample gravy to put over rice or mashed potatoes. Thanks for posting.

This has to be one of simplest recipes to do but actually tastes good. I used shin beef and it came out so tender and being lazy I even used garlic powder. I think this would be a great recipe to throw into a crockpot.

I pulled this recipe for my DH to put together on his day off while I was at school. It said to cut into serving size pieces, but he cut it into bite size pieces. LOL! He used diced tomatoes with a little Italian seasoning, and then he coated the beef with flour and browned it before proceeding with the recipe. Everything else was followed exactly, and I can say we thoroughly enjoyed it! Served with mashed potatoes and green beans. OMG! We will make this again. Thanks for the recipe.

I liked this because it is tangy and different tasting from lots of other things I cook. It is good.

This was originally was on the package of Lipton Onion Soup mix, back in the 70's! I used to make this all the time but had forgotten about it. I've made it with round steak and with very cheap stew meat, and it always turns out delicious and fork-tender. I've even made it with venison. For a pretty plate, serve it with yellow rice and broccoli--very colorful and good.

Delicious! I didn't have onion soup mix so I used 4 tsp beef granules (powder form), garlic powder and minced onion flakes. I also added 1/4 cup of Marsala wine at the very end.

I love simple recipes like this! I used the crockpot and added 2 tablespoons of worcestershire sauce at the end. Thanks!

This recipe is perfect for cheap cuts of steak! We got a few cheap chuck steaks with bone and I had no idea what to do with them - this recipe was great! You could actually cut them with a fork and the flavor was very good! Thank you!

This recipe was quick and easy. It had great flavor and my kids really enjoyed it also. I served the meat over rice with a little bit of the sauce the meat cooked in. This is comfort food. I will try this again but next time in my crockpot as others have suggested.
