I divided this recipe in two, one for pretzels and the other for hot dog "buns". Both ways came out very nicely. I wouldn't recommend dipping the dough in soda water, it causes the dough to stick hard to the "greased" sheets. I would recommend just brushing them with the soda-water once they are on the pan. I would also recommend letting the dough rise for the first time at least an hour. It made a difference in the final size. Very good flavor nonetheless and the buns were yummy with the hot dogs. Thanks!!

this worked well in my bread machine. i had a little difficulty rolling out the pretzels, but that's because i'm new to this whole stay-at-home thing and haven't cooked before.

I don't usually give five star ratings, but this was so good I that I had to let you know that having this recipe is dangerous for anyone on a diet! Excellent recipe!

Fun! And yummy! I made the dough in my ABM then made letters out of some of the dough, and wrapped some dough around chunks of cheese. I had two cookie sheets full, and baked at the same time. The sheet closest to the coils were beautifully browned, while the other sheet was tan. The cheese filled pretzels were INCREDIBLE! We'll be making these again and again!

This was so fun. I wrapped hotdogs with it and both my husband and I thought they were yummy. I used the other half of the dough to make the pretzels. I had a devil of a time rolling the dough out into a long thin rope, but I got it close enough.

Oh, wow! I can't believe how easy this was to make!! I made little ropes and wrapped them around hot dogs just like you suggested, and they baked up so beautifully! Exactly like pretzel dogs at the mall. I will never buy another one again!! Thanks, h jones!!

This was a family hit!I made it in my ABM, halved the recipe. I had to add a little more flour as the dough was getting mixed. I didn't have course salt so right after i took it out of the oven, i brushed with salted butter. I will definately make this again!! Thank you!

GREAT! We wrapped it around some hot dogs the other night. The kids and I were in HEAVEN! We rarely do fun foods like this so it was great. Will be adding to my book and trying them as regular pretzels soon!

I used my bread machine, and skipped the soda water. I brushed the pretzels with egg white before baking, and they were devine. I ate 5 before they cooled off. Needless to say, I loved them! I always dip them in mustard, and it was fabulous.
