This is very similar to the spices I use when blackening fish, without all the fuss, mess and smoke in the kitchen! We like spicy, and this was. I made the recipe as written, and it turned out very good. I think next time though,I will drizzle a little of the melted butter/lemon over the fillets before cooking, as the thinner parts of the fish came out just a tad dry. Very good none the less. It was quick an easy. I served it with a spicy rice and beans dish and sauteed zucchini, onions and tomatoes. Next time I'll make some cornbread too! Thanks!

Very good recipe, and very tasty. The tilapia itself is a softer fish, so if it's baked just long enough, the batter gives it a slight crust. I don't mind spicy foods at all, but thought it was going to be too spicy for my wife as written. However, I went ahead and made it to recipe anyway, and it turned out fine.

Very very good! Very easy to prepare. After reading the other reviews I chose to dip fish in the butter and lemon juice, laid fish on a foil lined baking sheet then sprinkled the seasons on each side of filet. I was more able to control how much of each was applied. My 10 yrs had two filets and begged for more. I will bemaking this quick and super easy recipe many many more times. Thank you for posting!

Very good and very easy. I made it easier by not using the dipping method; I brushed the tilapia with the melted butter/lemon juice mixture, then sprinkled the spices over top. I halved the amount of cayenne and it had the perfect amount of heat. Thanx for a great tilapia recipe. I will repeat this one.

Great recipe, my family loved it! I melted the butter in a pan, added the lemon then sprinkled with the spices, and baked it in the butter .. prep time was less than 5 minutes ..

This was our first time trying tilapia and this recipe was a success. I did double all the spices to make sure I had enough to cover.

Excellent. I melted the butter in the dish I used for baking and mixed the lemon juice with it. I then had a lovely spicy sauce to dip the fish in. I used just a dash of cayenne and found the dish perfectly spiced.

Very good. I was overwhelmed by seasoning though. I think I will make again and sprinkle seasoning. Good seasoning combo though. Thanks!

Julie.....I just tried your recipe, first let me say that my family loved it! Second, let me say that I did not follow your recipe to a tee.
I did mix lemon juice and butter to dredge the fish in. Then I mixed flour and Old Bay with some garlic pepper for the breading. I double-dipped!!
Which means I dipped in butter, then breading, then back into the butter, then back into the breading. WHEW!!! This was great!! There was just the right amount of lemon that really added to the flavor! I will make this a regular to my family menu! Fish has been a little scarce in our home because of the price, but this fish is inexpensive and tastes great too. Thank you for sharing your recipe. TeresaLynn

My husband has declared this his new favorite fish recipe EVER! I always tend to adapt recipes to my energy level, so after I dipped the fish fillets into the lime/butter mixture (I used 1/2 butter and 1/2 olive oil), I poured the remainder of the lime/butter over the fillets in the baking dish, sprinkled the spices, quite liberally, over the fillets, and baked. It was FANTASTIC!
