If this was up to my DS's this would be more than a 5*, certainly kid friendly, and they were so glad to be eating something w/o surprises in it. **sigh**, poor children. I did bake 10 min. longer the first time in the oven, meat was still very red, only browned on the crust. I didn't add anything extra to this and it was a sucess. When mixing the ground beef I did mix it in a zipper food storage baggie to ease in cleanup. Great Recipe Amanda!

This was very yummy and liked by the family. The recipe reads like it's a lot of work, but in reality it is very quick. Next time I will make it with real mashed potatoes and more bacon!

This was a great recipe! Very tasty! I used the instant potatoes and the extra 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder. Yes this dish looks spectacular. Thanks so much for the recipe,Amanda Beth

This was pretty good. I was a little surprised when I pulled the "crust" out of the oven and it had shrunken down a bunch...but it still tasted great once it was finished. My kids especially really loved it! I agree with people who are saying next time they will use real mashed potatoes and more bacon. I will be doing the same. Thanks for a great recipe!

Delicious! My DH said 3 times during the meal,"This is dang good" and he wanted me to be sure to tell you that he said that!!! The only things I did different was to use real potatoes(did not have instant)and used canned diced tomatoes (did not have a fresh one). I just peeled and thinly sliced a few red potatoes and microwaved them till they were firm tender, added salt and pepper and butter to them and layered them on the meat mixture. I put the cheese as a layer on top of the potatoes. Yummy and dang good!!! Thanks Amanda Beth!!!

YUMMY! This was very good and not hard at all to make. The only problem I had was draining the fat off the "meat crust" after the first baking - the whole crust wanted to slide off the plate!! But I managed - I also added garlic to the potatoes. Very good and even better the next day for lunch.

excellent!! the topping was just the right amount of crunchy and the crust held to together. Only change i made is that I cooked the meat for 10 minutes before i put it in the oven just to be sure it cooked

This was soo good! I followed the directions completly except I used homemade mashed potatoes. I also cooked the beef part for 30 minutes instead of 15. Came out perfect!!!

This was pretty good. I would have liked the "hamburger crust" to be a little more cooked through. I like my hamburger meat WELL done. Next time I'd cook the crust longer for my taste. I also used real mashed potaotes as well.
