Instead of just making buns with this delicious dough, I made stuffed sandwiches. I divided the dough into thirds, then cut each third in quarters. I stuffed two quarters with about 1/3 cup of shredded leftover roast beef, pinched them together, covered and let rise for 30 minutes. Then I baked them at 350F for 20 minutes. Thoroughly delicious, and I'll be using this dough recipe over and over again!

Very good recipe! I have had great results. I have made the recipe as written and this time used 3 cups white and 1 cup wheat flour with the same outcome. Thanks as well for a dairy free recipe.

This recipe is amazing. I'm completely obsessed! These are perfect for hamburger/hot dog buns as well as dinner rolls. They're so flavorful, they don't even need butter! I think I've probably made these at least every other day for the last two weeks. The only change I made was substituting honey for sugar. For one batch, I skipped the honey/sugar, used extra virgin olive oil, and added fresh oregano and thyme. It was delicious! I was planning on serving the for dinner, but they didn't last that long. I've also made them with and without the egg wash. They still brown up really nicely without, they're just not shiney, so I'll probably make them that way to save an egg, unless we have company over and I'm trying to show off!

Excellent hamburger buns. Very easy to make in the bread machine & nice fluffy texture. The recipe says it makes 18 buns. If it does they must be small. =) I got 10 regular size buns out of the batch. Thanks for sharing a recipe I will use again!

Wow! This was a simple recipe. Although I do have a bread machine, I decided to make this with my kitchen aide. You didn't specify why kind of oil to use, so I used olive oil. I used this recipe in conjuntion with TGirl,RN's "Stuffed Hamber-Cabbage Buns" (instead of the frozen dough in her recipe). It was wonderful. I did make a few plain hamburger buns, to see how they turn out for use with hamburgers. The texture and taste is perfect. I'll definatly be using this recipe often. It was soooo easy and yummy. thank you for posting.

Excellent!! Who would have thought I'd be making hamburger buns
These were fantastic — made only 12 instead of 18 to make them a decent size for our burgers. The egg wash held the sesame seeds on perfectly. We really enjoyed these — wonderful texture. Thanks for the recipe!!

I am so glad I kept experimenting with bun recipes. I have made four different ones off of zaar and while they were good...there was just something not quite right. I found this one and decided to give it a shot. We were having hot dogs. DH said,"homemade buns again???" When we took the first bite he said,"this is it!!!Don't ever buy store bought again!" I had to agree. This recipe hits the spot. Gonna make again today for hamburgers or loose meat sandwiches. Thanks for experimenting til you got the recipe just right!!!

I made this recipe using my Kitchen Aid mixer. Once done I broke off a small piece, rolled into a ball then flattened. I then spooned some shredded mozarella then some browned sausage and onion into it. I worked into a ball, making sure the edges were sealed then placed onto a greased baking sheet. I allowed them to rise for 30 minutes then baked for 12 minutes (or until golden brown). This roll recipe is awesome and I see a variety of ways to use it. Next time I may fill with sausage and scrambled eggs or a meaty pizza sauce, or....I can't wait to try it as a hamburger roll--it has a very tender and nice texture.

Wow this is way easier then going to the grocery store!!! Great Buns! Delicious and Very Attractive. I used sesame seeds, poppy seeds and onion pieces for the toppings. Beautiful! — Apr 24, 2006 UPDATE: I have made this recipe 8 times now. It is so easy and the household favorite. It is great for lunch boxes too! The boys grab them and eat them plain as snacks! I top them with poppy seeds, onion pieces and sesame seeds.

I used these with pulled pork bbq (Pulled Pork BBQ, BBQ Rub, and BBQ Sauce) also and they were PERFECT. I made a few bread sticks out of the extras for my 2 year old and he loved them - they were really soft!!
