These were very good. They were a big hit with my DH & DS. I didn't use them as an appetizer but as a meat entree and a way to stretch my one pound package of Jimmy Dean Ground Sausage. I served this along with a Baked Mac & Cheese casserole. I didn't refrigerate the roll first before slicing and regretted it. It was so soft that it was hard to cut. I made thinner slices (about 1/2 inch) and only got about 16 slices. This had very good flavor and because I used a lean sausage it was not greasy when finished.

These are great. My sister-in-lw makes this same recipe often, and I have also made these for parties. I have used reduced fat crescent rolls and reduced fat sausage with no problems. I usually stretch the meat to accomodate 2 packages of crescent roll dough, using half a log of sausage for each. I also don't usualy chill it first - I just roll them and bake and they come out so tasty.

I really loved this recipe...everyone in my family loves crescent rolls so this was perfect! I used 1/2 maple flavored sausage and 1/2 regular Jimmy Dean sausage and sprinkled with cheddar cheese before rolling the dough and they were delicious! I can imagine that if you used Italian Sausage, Motzerella cheese and maybe threw in some mushroom bits, these would be great pizza bites to dip in Marinara sause...have to give that a try! Thanks for sharing!

I tried Heatherfeathers idea and used 1 lb of sausage to 2 tubes of crescent rolls; then I sprinkled mine with sharp cheddar cheese before rolling up and chilling. Makes a great breakfast.

Made these for breakfast. I used Jimmy Dean light sausage (12oz) and it was perfect. Not greasy at all. I baked them for 17 minutes. These would be great for an appetizer as well.

I made these for a party I had for my Mom's 60th birthday - they are really good and you can't beat the ease & price of making them - there were none left! I put mine in the freezer for a couple of hours until I was ready to cook them and slicing was easy.I will definitely make these again.

These were easy and tasty, but very greasy. I will probably add some cheese if I make them again.

Love this recipe...so easy. Everytime there's a function at work they want these. I didn't chill these long enough the first time and had difficulty slicing them. Otherwise they are super easy and a staple for parties.

These were sooo good and sooo easy! I followed the recipe as written. On Christmas Eve night, I prepared the roll and after my grandbaby opened all her presents, we gobbled them all up! It was a welcome addition to our Christmas morning! This is a definite keeper!
