Oh my Kitten - you've posted another good one! I used a 9x13 baking dish as I don't have a 9x9 & thought an 8x8 would be too small. I retained the quantities for eggplant & meat but increased the sauce by half. The "pie" may not have been as high but it sure tasted good. Aside from adding some fresh grated nutmeg to the sauce, I made no changes to the specifications. Thanx Kitten!

Delicious ! Only thing I'll change next time is to use less than the 1 tsp salt, the parmesan was salty enough. Husband loved it as well. Thanks for posting.

Groovy stuff Kitten! :D Made the meat sauce as stated except used two blanched tomatoes, green chilli and cayenne as well and some parsley (ran out of oregano). Also added a little rum to the meat on a whim. Broiled the eggplant and some potatoes as well. Used potatoes for the bottom layer instead of the eggplant and then the meat sauce and then the eggplant slices and the cheese sauce in which I used CHeddar as I find it difficult to source Parmesan. One hellava meal. Thanks. Fay

This was so delicious! I sliced potatoes about the same thickness as the eggplant. I broiled the potatoes with a little oil and oregano. I layered the potatoes on top of the eggplant in place of the meat for a vegetarian version. I was afraid the onions would overpower so I only chopped half of a large onion. This was so incredibly good. My 10-year old daughter said it is delicious despite yucky things like onion and eggplant. She asked for seconds and I had to deny her thirds! Thanks for a delicious recipe!

Delicious, hearty comfort food! Made with vegetarian ground beef and it worked perfectly. The cheesy puffy topping was spot on. Leftovers just as great the next day. Thank you!

Very, very good! I agree with FlemishMinx to cut down on the salt. That being said it was easy, hearty and so flavorful! My kids LOOOOOVED it. I did add a touch of cinnamon to the meat sauce, because my favorite greek restaurant does that here. I also added a pinch of nutmeg to the cheese sauce. DELISH!

This was fantastic!! I love Moussaka, and now I can make it at home!! Used some leftover ground turkey, and added a bit of freshly grated nutmeg and cinnamon. AWESOME!!

Wonderful recipe! So easy and so good. I've made many a Moussaka in my day and this is the easiest tastiest recipe for it yet. I baked mine in a 9x13 pan, I didn't bother to peel the eggplant, got my husband to grill the slices on the bb-q and doubled the sauce. It turned out perfect. Thank you for sharing!!!

This is one of the best Moussaka recipes I have ever tried and I have tried the ones in Greece. The Cheese sauce is delicious and crusty when cooked long enough. This recipe is a keeper. I did use less salt but put some sea salt on the eggplant while it was browning up under the broiler. Greeeaat!
