31 Reviews of Chocolate Cream Cheese Cupcakes

From: judy toler

On May 14, 2004

These are just wonderful. I use to make them a long time age but lost the recipe. Thanks for posting it is a all time favorite. I make just the chocolate cake part into cupcakes for my Grandson who can not have dairy or eggs. Everyone asks me for the recipe. It is so moist no one would now it has no eggs or milk. So you do not need to add the cream cheese mixture if you just want a plain moist cupcake. We love it.

Great cupcakes. I wasn't very fond of the chocolate chips, they sunk to the bottom of the cup. I will omit them next time. The cream cheese mixture made too much and I would suggest cutting it in half to avoid being wasteful. Other than that these were very moist and very tasty.

These were yummy, my 3 year old kept asking for more! The chocolate was so moist. I'm not sure how big a fan I am of mixing chocolate and cream cheese, though...

Initially, I thought "cream cheese in a cupcake? eww..." However, they turned out really delicious! The cupcake turned out moist and cakelike, and the cream cheese wasn't sour. I tried chocolate chips, but they didn't melt very well. Using the listed ingredients, I was able to make a dozen poofy cupcakes. Leaving them in slightly longer seems to make them poof more.

This recipe is ridiculously simple and delicious! The combo of cream cheese and the moist chocolate at the bottom sold me. I made this for valentine's day so I skipped the chocolate chips and placed sugar hearts on top of the cheese mixture. Very quirky and cute. I placed them in big cups and got 10 out of the recipe. I got compliments from my friends and the boyfriend so I'll be baking this again! Thanks for the recipe!

These turned out wonderfully - just like the picture! I was able to make 24 cupcakes, but ran out of the cream cheese mixture on the last 5. The chocolate chips didn't sink to the bottom like one reviewer experienced.

These are the best! My friend made them for me many times in the past but I never got the recipe from her so I was thrilled to find this recipe here. I found that I might want to make more of the chocolate batter as I had plenty of filling. I only needed about 1/3 choc batter in the muffin cup for a full cupcake - adding more overflowed when baked. Thank you for the recipe!!!

These were fantastic - I got 16 muffins out of the recipe and used the chocolate chips - they did NOT sink to the bottom and added a punch of chocolate in the middle. These reminded me of an "earthquake" cake that I make but with no coconut or pecans. I took them to church and they are gone.
