I make this all the time. It's delicious. I like mine with carmelized edges. Sometimes I mix it with cooked egg noodles and top it with grated parmesan cheese. It's absolutley fabulous that way.

Simple preparation, but EXCELLENT flavour! This will be my standard cabbage recipe from now on - and we'll be having cabbage MUCH more often! I used just under 1kg (2lb) of cabbage, 60g (2oz) butter, a pinch of black pepper, 1/2 teaspoon salt and 2 teaspoons of caraway seeds. This quantity took about 30-35 minutes to cook and provided four generous servings. It reheats well in the microwave.

My mother and I have been frying cabbage like this for years. We leave out the butter and dice a couple slices of bacon, mince a clove of garlic and partially cook it before adding the cabbage. YUM!

This is a wonderful way to do cabbage. I DO NOT like boiled in a pot cabbage. Add a little onion to this and it gets even better.

I absolutely love cabbage cooked this way! I use Pam cooking spray instead of the butter and it turns out great everytime. It's easy and tastes wonderful - can't get better than that!

Loved your recipe Boxerwing - have made it several times now - prepped exactly like you have only added a dash of worchestshire sauce. Going to try with red cabbage next time for a change. So health and so good!!! Thank you.

I make this once a week for my low carb diet. Try adding beaten eggs to the cabbage in the pan and scrambling...yum!

OK, I was going to post this recipe because I love it, so I do a search for similar things and voila! up pops this recipe! So now all I have to do is review it This is really the easiest thing to do and it tastes really good too. I don't even add the ingredients in any specific order, I just throw it all in my large skillet, cover, and turn on the fire. I let mine carmelize because I like the edges brown and sweet. I also add bacon grease if I have some in the fridge because it makes it that much more special. The possibilities are many with this because you can add garlic/bacon/garden seasoning/onion, anything! I always use a whole cabbage head and it is gone in one meal. My eight year old even likes this! Very low carb for those doing Atkins, 1/2 cup of green cabbage has 1.1 grams net carbs, and butter has none!

I love this recipe! This was my first experience with cooking cabbage, and it is the one preparation I use most often (usually with extra butter!). I think the key is lower heat on the stove, as I like it when it caramelizes, too.
