Extremely moist, the cream cheese adds so much flavor and richness it is almost sinful. Dense and light at the same time! The batter alone is addictive- like cheesecake for breakfast. I have made with dried apricots and pecans as well and DH has requested apple- you can't go wrong with this delicious coffee cake. 30 minutes was not quite done...Took 35 minutes for me.

I love this coffee cake and I have made it several times. Each time, I have left out the dried cherries, personal choice. The cake is moist, flavorful and light. Not a crumb ever goes to waste. Coffee cake is always great to have on hand when you have company in the house. This coffee cake will be around my house a lot.

This cake is very moist, delicious and rich! Instead of the dried cherries, I peeled and finely chopped a couple apples, sauteed them with butter and cinnamon, cooled them, then added them to the batter. Very nice!

This is a very moist, light and fluffy coffee cake. I have to admit licking the spatula after pouring into the dish was wonderful! I used dried cranberries and doubled the amount for my families preference. YUMMY. This will be my standard coffee cake recipe from now on.

My daughter wipped this up today when she was over for the afternoon. Delicious. I used dried cranberries and it took about 30 minutes to bake in my oven. This is now one of my all time favorite coffee cakes!!

Oh shuddup.. this is an AMAZING recipe! Holy Cow!! I served this at an AM Fantasy Football draft thinking it would be the 'chic food', but the guys were eating it all! Amazing. I used what I had in the pantry which was slivered almonds, but they worked equally as well. I also doubled the topping because I had a feeling it would be the best part... and it totally was. I'd do it again. Thanks for the best coffee cake recipe I've tried yet. PS- the leftovers are equally amazing 1 and 2 days after being made as well. Wow!!!!!

Excellent! I made this for tea, and DH absolutely loved it. We had some guests drop in unexpectedly, and they couldn't stop raving about it either. The only changes I made were to use oil instead of butter and to use dried apricots instead of cherries. Will definitely make this again and again.

I wish I could give this more than five stars. Out of several coffee cakes that I've tried, this is by far the most delicious. And so easy to make! Like others, I omitted dried fruit and added the almond extract with the vanilla; total cooking time was about 35 minutes. And the end result was so very soft, light and moist, I could hardly believe it. Just wonderful.

Delicious, easy and quick to put together. I liked the almond flavor of the cake with the cinnamon and brown sugar flavors in the topping. Moist, sweet, and flavors perfect to go with a morning cup of coffee. My husband reports it was a hit with the work crew at Habitat this morning! I'll be making it for "coffee and" at Church too! Thanks for posting this one Dawnab!

This is a fantastic coffee cake! Take care to use real extracts and not imitations to get maximum flavor. After a confab with Bev I set my timer to 30 minutes, although my cake needed closer to 35 to cook completely. I used the dried cherries as the recipe was written and could not be more pleased with the results. The cake is so moist and flavorful. It will be repeated often for special occasions and for the times we need a treat ourselves.
