An excellent way to get your windows clean. I took Yogi's advice and added a few drops of orange blossom scented oil to the solution. After a particularly rainy winter my windows had lots of drop marks, and this did the trick.

I also use this to clean my glass shower doors. Works wonders, although as my DH says, the shower does smell like a salad for a day or so! :o)

Hot diggety dog! My doggie noseprints are gone! Great window cleaner! Most window cleaner recipes call for ammonia and I didn't have any on hand, so I decided to give this a try and couldn't have been happier with the results. It even got off those doggie noseprints (you dog owners know what I'm talking about!) that a popular commercial brand wouldn't budge. I had resorted to scraping the nose prints off with a razor blade but they came off easily with this cleaner. Thanks so much for posting!

Perfect! No streaks and I'm not breathing in those nasty chemicals. I also added some eucalyptus essential oil to a seperate spray bottle of this for general cleaning. I think this works better than the commercial glass cleaners.

The large picture windows at our weekend house were covered with gunk from wind-blown sand and water. I suggested this recipe to my chief window washer (DH), who dislikes the taste and smell of vinegar in food. He was extremely skeptical, but agreed to try it. The windows are now spotless and shiny; DH says vinegar is his new favorite ingredient!

We use this window cleaning method a lot. The only thing we do differently is to use old glass towels instead of newspaper, because our newspapers always seem to have colored print--which leaves marks! The trick to cleaning windows is to never clean with ammonia--which streaks if it dries too fast--and never clean the window if the sun is shining on it. Another super easy way to clean windows if you don't like the vinegar smell is to add 1 teaspoon (about 1 fast squirt) of dishwashing liquid to a gallon of hot water. Using a soft cloth, wipe the windows with the soapy water, then buff dry with another soft cloth. Old Tee-shirts work great!

I have this "thing" about clean windows & I've been using vinegar & water for years - the results are fantastic! I've always guessed at the ratio but now I don't have to. Thanx Char!

easy and works great, doesn't streak! DH insisted on buying windex to do the car windows, and I challenged him to use this instead. The heated windows from the warm weather and bright sun made the 'streaks' he THOUGHT it would leave completely vanish, and now he is a believer too!
