Delicious! We both loved this recipe!! Because we are always watching our fat intake, we used fat-free ham & turkey & egg substitute & omitted the butter and still ended up with tonnes of flavour! They baked up beautifully & were nice & crispy on the outside. I was skeptical about the raspberry preserves but it was a really nice touch. Great recipe!!

High praise for this delicious sandwich. I used P4's "Brioche" Brioche for the bread, which worked perfectly, and served it sprinkled with powdered sugar and raspberry preserves on the side. I added a bit of dijon to the egg mixture, but other than that, didn't change a thing. Thanks for posting!

Excellent! I love Monte Cristos but generally avoid fried foods so don't get to enjoy them very often. Loved this baked version, much better and tastier than its fried counterpart. I wouldn't change a thing. Thanks for sharing the recipe!

I made this with the American cheese I had in the house. They were great although I did bake them to long on the first side.

Delicious! Love the combination of the saltiness of the ham, tangyness of the mustard, and sweetness of the powdered sugar and raspberry preserves. I have to agree with your husband that the raspberry preserves are what really make this. I used Smuckers Simply Fruit Seedless Red Raspberry Spreadable Fruit and whole wheat bread. I used to order a Monte Cristo (fried) every time I went to Bennigan's, but then they closed. Now I can make a better one at home! Thanks for posting!

This was an awesome sandwich. Used Calabrese bread and used another type of honey mustard as I didn't have the kind stated in the recipe. I also liked the idea of baking rather than frying.

No more frying - this is much healthier! Just add a tossed salad for a quick, easy & tasty dinner. Thanx Rita!
