90 Reviews of Taco Soup

From: Nicole Trubey

On Jul 24, 2004

Great recipe! My husband had two bowels and then ate the leftovers the next day...and he's not even on a diet! A few things I did differently: I added about a tbsp of fresh cilantro, a 1/4 cup of diced green onion, a dollop of sour cream in the dished out bowl, and baked some taco shells, broken, to sprinkle on top of the soup. Great meal!!

Very very good. I used Boca ground burger instead of meat and added some extra spices for heat. It was excellent. It was especially good as leftovers, when everything kinda soaked in. Yum!

Wow. I could eat this every day, whether or not I was counting WW points. It is so much better than the other diet soups I have tried, and it's so hearty! My roomate said that it tasted like mexican chili. I also tried it with sour cream as another user had suggested, sooooo good. I'll make this again and again, thanks Judy! UPDATE: I just put all these ingredients into the Weight Watchers recipe builder on their website, and it calculated there to be 3 points per serving. It's still super healthy and filling, but I just wanted to let you all know

I've made this soup more times than I can remember. I add a can of red beans and a can of black beans. If I'm the only one eating it I leave the meat out and it really cuts down on the calories even more. DH loves this soup but makes me double the meat when I make a pot for him to take to the hunting camp.

This was such an easy recipe, but I don't think its necessarily soup... its more like a chili! It kinda tastes like the chili from Wendy's only much better!!!

Really good, I didn't have an hour to simmer, it was more like 30 minutes and it turned out great. It was pretty spicy, but I used mexican stewed tomatoes and a can of rotel. This is better than the other WW soups because it has meat and the points are still so low. Thanks!

Quick and easy, also hearty and filling. I serve with shredded cheddar, low fat sour cream and baked corn tortillos "chips"(after first spraying with Pam and salting). One of our favorites.

Absolutely delicious! It adds a few points, but steaming some brown rice to mix in really makes this a complete meal all by itself. My family loves this!

I've made this soup ever since I found it in a Hospital flyer. So easy! I use ground chicken, turkey, or lean hamburger and Mexican chopped tomatoes. My recipe didn't say you had to simmer it an hour..just long enough to bring it to a good simmer or boil. Also top each bowl with shredded lettuce and dollop of non or low-fat sour cream. Yum I always recommend this to new brides because they can't go wrong and their new hubbies love it!
