Served this with bean soup. It was moist, sweet and very good. The ingredient list does not state how many eggs. I used 2. The directions doesn't say when to add honey. I added it with the wet ingredients.

I was looking for a sweet cornbread recipe to take to work to go with our chili for our chili cook-off. I printed this up in a hurry and began to prepare the recipe the night before. I kept thinking I was missing something when I noticed there was no egg mentioned. I was a little worried but made the recipe as written. It came out perfect. Sweet and moist and not crumbly. I didn't win the cook-off but the corn bread was a big hit. You made me look good! Thanks!

Very, very good! It was a big hit with supper tonight. Made yellow rice and chicken and at the last minute hopped on Zaar to find a corn bread recipe for supper. Super simple to make (the egg thing threw me off too since it does not mention it in the ingredient list, but since another review said she didn't use eggs and it turned out fine I did the same). DH and I both liked the texture and the flavor. He is more of a corn bread fan than I, but we were both going back for leftovers after supper was done. Trust me, for ME to have more than one piece must mean this is great!

Very very good cornbread. I made it with dinner tonight, and my husband even had a third piece of it as dessert. I was also confused about the the number of eggs... and since some made it without the egg and others with two, I used one egg. It turned out fabulous. It was delicious and I will make this again. I also had a corn meal mix in my pantry... so I used 4 cups of it instead of the flour and ommitted the baking powder and salt since it was already in the mix.

This was great! I used it as a side to Gumbo. The sweetness was just right with the spicy of Cajun Gumbo! I used three eggs. Again, it turned out great!

Watch out! You won't be able to stop eating this!! I could have eaten the whole pan allll by myself. Wow, it really was THAT good. As soon as it came out of the oven, I brushed it with some butter and sprinkled some sugar on top. I will be making this one again, and soon! Thankyou, Dawn!

I made this tonight to go along with chili. Served it with sweet butter and homemade jalapeno jelly. It was a big hit. It had a perfect amount of sweetness and, although I used yellow cornmeal, I didn't think it was too gritty at all. I'm still going to keep looking for a cornbread that's a little more moist, but this one is as close as I have ever gotten towards my goal. I also tried the suggestion another reviewer had--to cook it in a cast iron pan with cream on top. This worked out well for me. Although, I may have put too much cream in some areas because it made the bread split. The taste, however, was great. Thanks!
