Fabulous! I made this fondue when entertaining our family this Christmas. It was a hit! I used 1 lb. of Wilbur mini semi-sweet chocolate chips, 1/2 tsp. vanilla and 3/4 cup of light cream (instead of heavy cream). It was thick and very rich. We dipped pretzels, marshmallows, rolled pizzelle waffle cookies, cubes of pound cake, strawberries, pineapples and clementine wedges. I recommend semi-sweet chocolate over milk or bittersweet chocolate. Semi-sweet works perfectly with the sweeter dipping treats like marshmellows. I am making this again in 3 weeks for my Girls-Night-In party. Yum! Helpful Hint: After serving, keep stirring the fondue on a regular basis. Even when using a tealight candle, it may burn into a clump at the bottom of your warming bowl.

I made this for Valentine's Day, what fun! I used those little melting wafers of chocolate you buy in the bulk food section because I don't like semisweet, and 2% milk with butter. I Cut a hole into a medium sized empty can of ice tea mix and put a votive inside and then sat a small bowl on top, because I don't own a fondue pot. Thank you for the great recipe!

Made this to end a romantic little dinner with my dear sweet husband. We loved every bit of the fondue. We dipped strawberries and pirouette cookies. I used semi sweet chocolate and half and half.

Also made this for my New Year's bash. Turned out great! We dunked aniseed biscotti, melon, fresh pineapple, apple chunks, and bananas. Delicious. I let the left over chocolate harden overnight, then rolled them into balls and coated with chopped nuts, grated chocolate, and icing sugar (to make 3 varieties). Made a fabulous selection of little 'truffles'. Thanks Meanie

I am not a huge fan of the bittersweet but this worked great with melted hershey bars. We dipped marshmallows and then put them in between graham crackers for instant smores. Oh and this was very easy to do. Makes a perfect party dessert.

We made this delicious treat for our New Year's feast dessert. Actually, my 3yo DD made it herself (adult supervision for the flame) stirring the semi-sweet chocolate, milk, and butter to melting in the fondue pot. We helped her with the measuring, and it came out perfectly. Once the chocolate was melted, even at it's lowest flame, the fondue pot kept the chocolate almost at a simmer, so we turned off the flame. We dunked in honey castella cake, fresh strawberries, orange sections, marshmallows, and bananas. The chocolate was the perfect eating temperature and the flavor was excellent. Everyone proclaimed this a winner and must-do again dessert. Thanks for another great recipe!

I made this for our girl's night in spa party. I used milk chocolate (personal preference) and half and half, and it was amazing. I served it with grapes, pineapple chunks, pretzels, oranges, bananas, and strawberries. Delicious- thanks for posting!!

Used 1/2 cup of milk with the butter, and got a wonderful rich fondue to serve with pound cake, marshmallows, orange, apple, pear, bananas and strawberries. Could not improve on it at all! Will make again and again. YUM!
