will not make green beans anyother way. I use frozen green beans and just add the amount of water called for on the back of the package instead of canned kind.

These are just the BEST ever! I followed the directions except I used my crockpot and pre-cooked bacon bits (for salads) to save time and pots to wash. Started it at noon and by dinner, they were ready. People were scarfing 'em up! Next time, I'll make 'em on the stovetop but... since I had a crowd here visiting, the crockpot thing worked out really well. Wouldn't change a thing about this recipe... very tasty!

These were great! I served them at Christmas dinner. I made them without the onion because two guests don't like onions, but will make them with the onion next time. THis is defintly a keeper for us.

I threw everything in the crockpot and let it go. They turned out WONDERFUL! Pretty close to Cracker Barrel's. Thanks!

Just like all the other reviews, I think these are great. I also used the precooked bacon pieces to save time, and added some fresh mushrooms. Who would think that canned green beans could taste so good. Thanks for sharing.

Very good! I scaled the recipe down to just one can of green beans since there are only two of us here. I was a little off on some things (a smidge too much salt and onion) but this was still a tasty side. I can tell this will be amazing when made just as the recipe states - something I intend to do the next time we have company! — posted Aug 4, 2004 ***Ok, I made these again for Thanksgiving and doubled the recipe (lol, I never make it the right size) and it was perfect. The issue I had with onion and salt was not a problem this time. Excellent canned green beans!! Thank you!

So good!! I call these Miss Trudy's Green Beans, after the cook at the daycare. These are the only green beans two of my kids will eat. I use 1 can beans, 1 tbls precooked chopped bacon, 1/4 tsp sugar, 1/8 tsp each salt and pepper, and 2 tbls frozen chopped onions.

DH and I thought this recipe was delicious. I did add 1/2tsp minced garlic to this recipe and since it was canned green beans I only saute' in skillet about 10 minutes, just long enough to get good and hot. Great recipe! Thanks for posting!

This is now my favorite green bean recipe. Who would know they start with canned beans. I make mine with Splenda and they are yummy.

These were great!!!!! I made this on easter as a side dish. I was afraid of the long cooking time, and that the green beans would mush up, but it didn't happen! Very good, I think I added a little too much salt though.
