These were the best biscuits I have ever made. I was interested since I had never had biscuits with that much sugar in them and also made with butter. They just had a hint of sweetness and were the most moist biscuits I have ever eaten. I usually find that most biscuits are a little dry...but not these. My dough was on the sticky side...but I didn't want to ruin the texture so instead of adding flour and rolling the dough to cut them out...I simply took a handfull of dough and patted it with my palm onto the cooky sheet. I would not make them in any other way...they made 9 nice large biscuits puffs. Terrific recipe!!!

I make biscuits like this — recipe is close to the same. Instead of bothering with a "biscuit cutter" for round biscuits I pat the dough out into a rectangle and cut them into squares. Delish.

Finally a biscuit recipe that is easy and has a wonderful flavor. In the past my biscuits tasted too floury and bland. Not these! They're terrific! Thanks for sharing!

Never made biscuits before and picked this recipe for its great reviews and simplicity. Turned out awesome! Better than any biscuit I've ever had, everyone else thought the same and raved about them. Patted the dough out on a silicone baking sheet and cut into squares with a blunt knife, pulled them apart to separate and they baked up beautifully without having to dirty the counter or grease the baking sheet. They rose so high, made a great fluffy biscuit.

My 19 year old son wanted to make biscuits and gravy for breakfast one morning. He asked me if I had a good recipe for biscuits. I have several, but since he had never made biscuits, I wanted to try and find a simple recipe for him. These were so light and delicious! I plan to trash all of my biscuit recipes, as I have found a new one. My son is planning to get married next spring. I plan to put this recipe in a new cook book that I am preparing for his fiance and himself.

FANTASTIC biscuits! I was born in the deep south and I have always tested different recipes for the best result! This is indeed one of the BEST I have ever eaten! I did reduce the sugar to 1 tablespoon as I was serving with sausage gravy. Thank you for sharing such an easy and perfect biscuit!

Thank you for posting this lovely recipe...They remind my DH of the biscuits his mom use to make. They were tender, tasty and really easy to make. I added a cube of old cheddar cheese to the top of biscuit before baking.

Loved these biscuits! Made them for buscuits and gravy, but I think I ate more of them plain than with the gravy. I wish I would have made a triple instead of a double batch. I will be making these a lot. I also just patted them onto a stoneware cookie sheet, much easier than rolling them out. Thanks for the recipe!

These were great! I was lazy and just patted the dough into a rectangle on the pan and cut into 12 pieces. Worked great and everyone commented on how tasty they were! Excellent recipe, thanks for posting.
