Excellent! The smell of this bread baking is so tempting - rich cardamom scent wafts through the air. The bread is very moist from the pear - the flavor of which is very pronounced. The little chunks of pear get so tender and are well complimented by the cardamom. This was delicious. NOTE: I mixed my liquids up separately with a whisk before adding to the dry ingredients.

WOW-this is special. So moist and I love the flavor of the cardamom (must be my Scandinavian roots). I fancied this up by baking it in small bundt pan. I coated the pan with cooking spray and then sprinkled the topping around the bottom and sides of the pan before pouring batter in. When I inverted it, it had the nice sugar coating. I'll be making this again!

oh yumm! This turned out so good, and it is sooo easy to make. It is sweet and I thought that the cardamom was perfect with the pear flavor. It is soft and fluffy despite the fact that I used whole wheat pastry flour. This is just what I needed to use up some very ripe pears that my neighbor gave me. Thanks so much for sharing, this is a keeper for sure!

This was very easy to make. It took less time to mix together than to preheat my oven. More importantly, this cake tastes wonderful and has the most enticing fragrance. I cut into the cake within 5 minutes of removing it from the oven and I ate 1/3 before I could make myself stop. The only change that I might make next time is to use more cardamom because I love the taste.

Very pretty, tall loaves, perfect for giving for the holidays. I made a double batch, half small loaves, 1 big one. I also added a bit more cardamom after tasting the batter, I think it would depend on the freshness of your cardamom. A keeper.

Very easy and very good!! Just like eating pears. I doubled the recipe because I wanted to use up pears before they went bad. Then I discovered I only had two pears! I added a chopped Granny Smith apple.

What a taste tempting change of pace. I was skeptical of the cardamom, but I have seen swedish recipes that call for cardamom in sweet dishes, so I thought I would give it a try. I was not disappionted. I did use a previous suggestion and mixed my wet ingredients together first before adding to the dry. I also added a little nutmeg. I used raw sugar on top (probably more than the called for 1 tablespoon of regular sugar)

The smell of this bread while it is baking is AMAZING my kitchen smelled good after the first 10 minutes! I had some green cardamom pods so I took out the seeds and ground them up with the mortar and pestle. I am not sure they were the correct type to use but WOW it was tasty and wonderfully fragrant! Not knowing the different types of pears very well I THINK I used Anjou pears, they had a wonderful flavor and I had trouble putting them into the bread I wanted to eat them right then! I can't get enough, I will definitely be making this again soon.

Maybe I'm just a sucker for Cardamom, pears, and sugary bread.. but I absolutely loved this. The bread was moist and perfectly wonderful tasting. The combination of cardamom and pears was just so tasty with my cup of tea, I could have had a second piece right then. Thanks so much for posting.

This was great bread! I had never baked with cardamom before but this turned out really nice and had a sweet but not too sweet taste. Like someone else had, I mixed the dry and wet ingredients separately and then added them together. The loaves turned out nice and moist but also had a "fluffy" or cake like texture. They rose really nice and looked as good as they tasted. Really, really tasty - everyone had a second slice. Easy and tasty - thanks!
