We just finished eating this for breakfast and had to rate this right away. It was fantastic. This will definitely be served often at our house, for breakfast or even for an evening dessert. So many possibilities. I whipped up some whipping cream but found this so delicious on its own that none of us used it. I'm looking forward to making use of the wow effect of this dish next time I have company. So easy...so rewarding! Thanks for a great recipe.

I love this! It really does puff up very nicely. Mine got pretty black on the top but I think my oven runs a little hot, so I'm sure that was my doing; next time I'll bake at a slightly lower temp and I'm sure it will come out even better. This was so easy to put together and has a wow! presentation for a brunch, especially if you put berries and powdered sugar in the center.

Wow! I love it when I make something tasty and impressive without any effort! Two tips: 1) the cooking temps/times definitely need modification. I cooked at 425 for about 15 minutes and 350 for an additional 5. It was golden brown and perfectly done. 2) Drizzle a little sauce or honey on the plate for a gourmet look. I happened to have some cranberry syrup. Thank you so much. I just ate this for dessert and will make another for breakfast tomorrow.

I made this the morning of Easter 2005. Very good, my husband just raved about it! I filled the middle with blueberries and stuck it back into the oven for 2 min. I had made sausage to go along with it and some nice strong coffee. Thanks for posting. Will make again. LL

I had made Mean Chef's recipe which I split for 2. The one thing that I found attractive about this recipe was that it served 2. It was beautiful! This was served to DH for Valentine breakfast with fresh strawberries and blueberries topped off the the powdered sugar.

A very generous neighbour brought me raspberries & this was the perfect "basket" for them! The only change I made was to sprinkle some powdered sugar for eye appeal. Thanx Sugarpea!

I haven't tried this particular recipe but mine is quite similar and I love these! I strongly recommend a squeeze of fresh lemon juice before the powdered sugar. I don't even like lemon so much, but it just does something magical.

Sugarpea, this was so yummy! I whipped up a double batter very early in the morning and left it in the fridge all day and then made this for dinner tonight for DH and myself and served it topped off home made apple pie filling that I keep frozen in my freezer and a dollup of whipped cream yummmmm!. This made a quick and enjoyable dinner for us. I will make this again very soon. Thank you for sharing Sugerpea, it was delicious!...Kitten
