I improvised a bit with this- adding chopped red bell pepper, corn, a small finely chopped potato, and some other spices (primarily thyme and curry). I also used 2% milk in lieu of half-and-half, which worked just fine and added the couple Tbs of gravy that we had left over from cooking the turkey. Oh- I also used between 1 and 1.5 cups of turkey instead of two (all I had) and it was plenty, especially with the additional veggies I added. The thing I like about chowders and soups in general is that you can fiddle a lot with the recipe with excellent results. Anyhow, this is a great basic recipe and a terrific and a little non-traditional way to use up leftover turkey! Thanks for posting.

YUM!!!!! We loved this soup!!! I did add a little more chicken broth and 3 medium size potatoes and WOW. Will definitely make again and forwarded this recipe to a couple of my friends as well. Thanks!

Yummy!!! I thought this was sooo good. What a great change from regular recipes using leftover turkey! I used fat-free half and half and it turned out perfect, a great creamy taste but a lot healthier for you.

I was so thrilled with this recipe, I took pictures of it!
I didn't change a thing but I'm so happy to finally have something so tasty to use up holiday turkey. Great recipe! Thanks!

This was just delicious. I only made half the recipe because there was just two of us, and I did add a little corn. Also I didn't have green onion so I used a shallot. It was delicious.

We always have smoked turkey for Thanksgiving, and the leftovers really worked well in this recipe. The smoky flavor of the meat was wonderful in the chowder! I doubled the recipe and substituted milk in place of half of the half-and-half. And like some of the other reviewers, I also added some diced potato. Delicious--and easy to make. You can't beat that!

Very nice soup - I did not measure the celery, carrot, onion (used 1 med.onion, 2 celery stalks & 1 lg.carrot), also just added cut up turkey till it seemed enough. Oh, and added cooked, diced potatoes and it was a great creamy soup - thanks !!!!

I found some pretty old cooked turkey in my freezer and was wondering if I could make it moist again. This recipe did that, and has a fabulous flavor! I used the chicken bouillon and subbed regular onions. This made about 6 servings for us. This is so good I wish I had more turkey! Thanks!

OMG! This was soooo good! I did make a few changes such as.. sweet onion instead of green and added some egg noodles with the broth and waited for the noodles to cook before adding half & half and a touch of garlic. My DH is NOT a soup guy, but really liked this. I served it with a red leaf salad and sourdough brown and serve loaves. We will be making this again. Good thing I doubled it so I can have it for lunch tomorrow. Mmmm!
