These are FABULOUS!!! I followed the directions exactly ... when they came out of the oven, I brushed them all with melted garlic butter ,and on half of them, I sprinkled parmesan cheese on them. MM!!!!! I ate, like 5, of them right out of the oven! LOL
I rolled out my regtangle and marked off where to cut them , I only got 15 breadsticks, but what I did was after cutting them from top to bottom , I cut them across the middle , giving me a double batch of actually, regular size breadsticks. A PIZZA cutter works WONDERFUL for cutting this dough!
Thanks so much for posting this recipe!! I have a feeling I'll be baking a LOT of breadsticks!

I'm officially addicted! I have been looking for years for a great recipe for garlic breadsticks and have been disappointed time and again. The search is over. I was looking for something similar to Olive Garden's breadsticks, but these are even better. Unbelievably soft & elastic. When I took the dough out of my bread machiine I was tempted to add a little more flour because I thought the dough was too sticky to roll out. I'm glad I didn't. They were truly perfect!

THANK YOU! Finally a great bread recipe that doesn't take all day long and tastes soooo delicious! I do enjoy different bread recipes but I simply don't have the time to spend on them. My family MUST have bread every night with dinner so this solves that problem. I brush with butter and then sprinkle italian seasonings and/or parmasan cheese or garlic and parsley. All are very good. My only regret is that I didn't find this sooner.

I loved these bread sticks, as did my husband. They were exactly as desribed, SO soft and tender.

These were quick, simple, soft, and tasty. I baked them last night and froze the rest. I defrosted one in the microwave this morning, and it tasted even better today! Thank you for this neat recipe!

Our family absolutely loves these breadsticks. In addition to breadsticks, I also use the dough to make a thin pizza crust. I can make 2 pizzas out of a recipe, or one pizza and breadsticks. When rolling out the dough for the pizza crust I usually roll it out and then let it rest for a bit, then finish rolling. My DH thinks it makes the best pizza ever! Thanks for sharing this wonderful recipe!

These were absolutly wonderful! Here is what I did to make the dough. First I mixed the warm water, sugar, and yeast together and let stand for around 8 minutes to proof. I then combined the flour and salt and then added them to the yeast water. Pour the oil on top of that, stir to combine, and knead for about 2-3 mintutes on a floured surface. After that, you can just follow the recipe. I served the full batch to my family of 7 and there wasn't a single one left over! I was even able to get away with using all-purpose rather than bread flour.

These were great! I halved the reciped and got 8 breadsticks. Instead of rolling out the dough and cutting it up I just cut it into 8 pieces and rolled them with my hands into sausage shapes. I let them rise for about 30 mins in the oven on low with the door open(it is too cold here at the moment) I rolled them in cornmeal and sprinkled poppy seeds on top. Can't wait to try them with cinnamon sugar next time!

Are you kidding? I will never order breadsticks from anywhere again! These (per my husband) are a new staple. I used 1/3 whole wheat flour, butter for half of the oil (I was out) and the remainder was applesauce. Thank you so much for this fantastic recipe. What great lunch snacks!!

Soft and chewy - I love breads of all kinds, and these are a winner! I sprinkled mixed herbs over some of them, and garlic over the others - both worked really well! I will make these often - thanks so much for a wonderful, easy recipe!
