This was a lovely change for our Sunday breakfast. I didnt have any swiss cheese so just used colby instead. I liked the crunch of the croissants an the creaminess of the melted cheese..I thought I might add some green bell pepper next time and maybe even a litle ham..great recipe, thanks for sharing.

This is a well written recipe that is quick and easy to assemble. It tasted good, but due to my own preferences I will add some spice to it next time around. Thank you for sharing your yummy recipe MarieAlice.

Wonderful egg dish! I doubled this and added some chopped fresh asparagus while sauteing the onions and mushrooms. The croissants give this a wonderful texture, and the cheese combination was perfect.

Very good! I bought a huge box of croissants from Costco and then tried several different recipes with them. This is a keeper and the best one that we tried.

MarieAlice - you've created a new Christmas morning tradition in our house - your Croissant Breakfast Casserole! Although I served it for breakfast, it occurred to me that it might also make a great lunch dish, or even the basis for a vegetarian dinner - maybe served with a salad and jacket-baked potatoes.Thank you so much for posting - it will be made over and over again. — Dec 25, 2005

I've made breakfast casseroles before but never using croissants. Like most reviewers I added and changed one or two ingredients according to what I had on hand and what sounded good. But I think it's the croissants that make the recipe — they really do set and cook up differently than another type of bread would in this kind of casserole. Very tasty, great for holidays and guests, and worth the occasional calorie splurge (and/or money splurge).

This was great! Everyone gobbled it up on Christmas day. The croissant was so good; crispy and buttery!! I did add chopped ham per another reviewer's suggestion, and I'm glad I did. I'd make this again for a special occasion breakfast or brunch, but not regularly because it's sooo rich!! Adding cooked bacon would be yummy too!!

We made this for company and it was so easy to prepare. Next time I would add salt and pepper and a little bit of garlic powder or adobo.

this was a hit! I used spinach, artichoke and diced ham. Swiss and cheddar for the cheeses. I went full fat on the milk and used cream. It was rich and so good!
